The flamenco feeling returns to the streets of Lo Ferro (Region of Murcia) after having enjoyed the 41^st year of its renowned flamenco festival last summer, and its first winter gala in October.

At a meeting held on the afternoon of the 3^rd of November 2021, the event organising committee, made up of: the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León Garre; the Councillor for Culture, Raúl Lledó; the President of the Peña Flamenca Melón de Oro, Mariano Escudero; the Festival Director, Juan Tomás Frutos; as well as the Festival Coordinator, Francisco Aparicio, decided that its 42^nd edition will be held from the 15^th to the 24^th July next year, and have already got to work to members, peñistas and fans the best flamenco again in the attractive setting of the Summer ferreña venue.

With a defensive spirit and keen to continue promoting flamenco, the Peña Flamenca Melón de Oro is keeping cante jondo alive in the municipality of Torre Pacheco over the winter period with monthly activities. This November, for the occasion of the International Day of Flamenco on Tuesday the 16^th of November – commemorating flamenco’s designation as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010 – the peña ferreña is to hold a gala on Saturday the 13^th of November in Roldán’s Civic Centre. The singer Bastián Contreras will perform alongside Antonio Fernández El Torero on guitar, Sebastián and Antonio Santiago on vocals and guitar, with Rocío de la Cova and Soraya Sánchez dancing.
