’10 latidos’: new exhibit at the Museum of Flamenco Dance
The group ‘Retrata Madrid’, formed by ten artists from Madrid, exhibits a selection of mixed-technique works. This collection captures concepts with a closer and more realistic expression of flamenco
The group Retrata Madrid, formed by ten artists from the Spanish capital, exhibits at the Museo del Baile Flamenco Cristina Hoyos (Seville) a selection of mixed-technique works titled 10 Latidos (‘10 Beats’). This collection can be visited at the art Gallery of the Museum of Flamenco Dance until August 31st, 2019.
The exhibit will open on May 25th with an act which will be attended by the artists themselves, who travelled from Madrid for the occasion, and personalities from Seville such as Antonio Jiménez, manager of Seville Tourism, and Miguel Rus, president of the Seville Entrepeneurs Confederation, among others.
This collection explores various representations of flamenco, capturing individual artists, couples during their performances and personal interpretations of stages and tablaos. From raw realism to the most abstract work, a kaleidoscope of ten sensibilities, techniques and visions. Ten beats around flamenco’s spirit and feeling.
The Museum of Flamenco Dance continues with its program of internationalization of flamenco in the artistic spheres associated with this art, particularly painting and sculpture. After the exposition of the painter from Seville Mercedes de Mata, which had a more abstract approach, this exhibit captures concepts with a closer and more realistic expression of flamenco.
