The port city of Tampico, in the Tamaulipas state in northwest Mexico, will soon enjoy a new edition of its Entre Flamencos tablao. This event will take place at the Gynko restaurant on February 29^th, 2020, starting at 9 PM.

This show is organized by the Arsa y Toma Academy, directed by Ángel Rodríguez and María del Pilar Hurtado. The fifth edition of this popular tablao features a first-rate lineup: Nino de los Reyes, a bailaor who has worked with renowned artists such as Antonio Canales, and Triana Maciel Pratts, a bailaora with plenty of international exposure, having toured in China, Japan and the United States.

The stage of the 5^th Tablao Entre Flamencos will be shared with guitarist Fernando Soto, singer-songwriter Omar Pérez, percussionist Álvaro Rubio and Ángel Rodríguez as featured local artist.

«The quality of the artists we’ll feature in this tablao is very high, on par with shows in Madrid or London, or with a production in a foreign theater. In fact, people will be able to see first-hand a show as good as those in the world’s best tablaos. Nino De los Reyes will perform here in Tampico, for first time ever in Mexico», stated the organizers.

For Ángel Rodríguez it’s not easy to promote flamenco in a city like Tampico, even as it hosts a renowned flamenco festival, Flamenco Tam Fest. «Yes, it’s a little difficult because this is not a big city. I’m not saying nothing ever happens here, because we’ve had other flamenco events, and a flamenco festival is hosted in the city. That makes us very happy. Our goal is to promote flamenco, so it reaches a wider audience who will fully enjoy and understand it», explained Rodríguez to the media during the presentation of this event.

Admission tickets cost 400 pesos (approximately US$ 20), on sale at the Arsa y Toma Academy.
