Flamenco and Cuban rhythms with Eliades Ochoa and cantaora Argentina

Cuban traditional music and flamenco get together in 'Un bolero para ti' with the voices of Eliades Ochoa and Argentina. The video, a version of a song that earned the Cuban artist four Latin Grammys in 2012, will be released on August 21st.

“Un bolero para ti” evokes the tender excitement of love. Eliades Ochoa tells us about the nostalgy he feels for being away from the woman he loves. This song composed away from his beloved Cuba, where he was born, was included in his 2012 album of the same name, which earned him no less than four Latin Grammy awards. This artist has brought back that hit to hist latest album in 2020, Vamos a bailar un son, recording a new version where he masterfully unites flamenco and Cuban traditional music thanks to the collaboration of Andalusian cantaora Argentina.

The “Un bolero para ti” music video will be released on August 21st, a unique opportunity to enjoy the expressive and sensuous voices of Argentina and Eliades, showcasing the melodic empathy of this duo. This bolero is enriched by the accompaniment of José Quevedo on the flamenco guitar and the characteristic harmony of Eliades’ guitar. This video was recorded in 2019 at Seville’s Sputnik Studio. The outdoor takes were made in an old Arab farm, the Hacienda Montija Hotel, and in Huelva’s El Rompido beach.

Ian Padrón, the director and script writer of the “Un bolero para ti” music video, is a renowned award-winning Cuban director and producer of films, documentaries, videos, and artist director of galas and of great artists such as the famed Van Van Cuban band and of important personalities in the Cuban cultural scene. In this occasion, Ian enriches the takes of the Eliades and Argentina video with a couple of flamenco dancers, Emilio and Noelia, both from well-established Andalusian flamenco families. Their costumes, movements and the essence they portray in this video are a genuine expression of Andalusian tradition, which together with Cuban tradition, led by the unmistakable voice and guitar of the master Elias Ochoa, make this bolero unique and incomparable.
