El macho es un complemento a un cante, como el macho de la ca\u00f1a o la funci\u00f3n que cumplen los juguetillos o coletillas de cantes como las canti\u00f1as o los tientos complementando el cante. El cambio es un cante que indica, como su nombre\u00a0dice, un cambio en la ambientaci\u00f3n de una tanda, como los cambios en las seguiriyas o los cantes por cabales que, al cambiar el tono, del modo flamenco al modo mayor, cambian dicha ambientaci\u00f3n anunciando el final de una tanda.
