After the happy experience of 2023, a new edition of the experience will be reissued on Saturday, November 30 The flavour of Marchena Flamenco. This is a route through the Sevillian town to visit those places of special heritage interest linked to the flamenco culture of the land. This year it has a special dedication to Melchor de Marchena.
The original idea comes from Victor Moran, a great cultural activist in love with his land, the flamenco and the wines of Jerez. He transferred his idea to the Marchena Town Hall in their day and achieved a great success in participation in the first edition. With the invaluable collaboration of Teresa Jimenez, the Tourism delegate of the Marchena council, have organised a second route that aims to be a total experience for the senses. In this way, heritage, history, flamenco, wine and gastronomy in an activity that the councillor has described as "a walk accessible to all attendees, full of history and roots."
Flamenco Culture & Sherry from Expoflamenco
The activity that we will carry out and with which we will join this great day will be our educational session that unites the study of flamenco with the wines of Jerez. A unique way of studying art jondo, seasoned with a superior sherry in hand. The organization in its program has happily defined it as "an immersion" into these two worlds so close to each other, the flamenco and the oenological one.
After a brief introduction to the winemaking process within the Jerez – Xerez – Sherry denomination, we will go into more depth about the guitar heritage bequeathed to us by the great Melchor and his son. Enrique, through various audiovisual media. For such a distinguished occasion, Víctor Morán has wisely chosen two great wines such as fine Innocent y Amontillado Tio Diego from Bodegas Valdespino, one of the oldest houses in the area, which today is part of Grupo Estévez de Jerez. The activity will be directed by the collaborator of Expoflamenco Jose Maria Castano, author of the original idea and approved trainer of Sherry Wines.
