{"id":4256,"date":"2016-08-03T16:48:16","date_gmt":"2016-08-03T16:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=4256"},"modified":"2019-07-21T18:36:15","modified_gmt":"2019-07-21T16:36:15","slug":"cuando-el-flamenco-te-elige","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/cuando-el-flamenco-te-elige\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuando el flamenco te elige"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A veces reflexiono mucho sobre c\u00f3mo descubr\u00ed el flamenco y llego a la conclusi\u00f3n de que fue el flamenco quien me descubri\u00f3 a m\u00ed. Estoy convencido de que buscaba a un ni\u00f1o de <strong>Palomares del R\u00edo<\/strong>, el pueblecito sevillano donde crec\u00ed, para que se aficionara y luchara por \u00e9l. En este pueblo hab\u00eda aficionados que cantaban en las tabernas, pero no profesionales. Hubo un viejecito que cantaba fandanguillos mientras beb\u00eda vino pele\u00f3n con los codos apoyados en la desgastada barra de madera de la taberna de <strong>Mariquita M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>. No sab\u00eda si cantaba bien o no, pero me gustaban las letras, casi todas de amor y desamor, como eran las de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Recordando-a-El-Carbonerillo\/c112t\/56b81aa40cf2dc1600e907a6\">El Carbonerillo<\/a>, el cantaor atormentado del barrio de La Macarena. A veces el viejecito lloraba al acabar cada fandango y un d\u00eda le pregunt\u00e9 a mi madre que por qu\u00e9 lloraba, respondi\u00e9ndome que, al parecer, este hombre, soltero, tuvo un desenga\u00f1o amoroso cuando era joven, del que jam\u00e1s se recuper\u00f3. Por eso cantaba con tanta pena aquellos fandanguillos naturales que atravesaban mi piel con la misma facilidad que atraviesan la niebla los rayos del sol.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n recuerdo a un muchacho, <strong>Juan Manuel el de la Pura<\/strong>, que cada noche pasaba cantando por Cuatro Vientos cuando iba a guardar la vi\u00f1a familiar, cerca de Almensilla. En el silencio de la noche y ya metido en la cama, escuchaba su voz clara y potente, cada vez m\u00e1s d\u00e9bil, hasta que llegaba a la vi\u00f1a. Una noche le pregunt\u00e9 a mi abuelo que por qu\u00e9 cantaba Juan Manuel y me dijo que lo hac\u00eda porque ten\u00eda miedo, que era una manera de ir acompa\u00f1ado en la soledad del camino y la terrible negritud de la noche. Toda esa informaci\u00f3n la iba almacenando en mi memoria y cuando me fui a vivir a Sevilla, con solo 15 a\u00f1os, sab\u00eda ya m\u00e1s o menos qu\u00e9 era el flamenco y por qu\u00e9 exist\u00eda. Lo dem\u00e1s vino rodado.<\/p>\n<p>Justamente enfrente de donde viv\u00eda estaban creando una pe\u00f1a flamenca, la de <strong>El Chozas<\/strong>, y desde la cama escuchaba cantar a los aficionados. Como no me dejaban dormir, una noche me vest\u00ed y baj\u00e9 al local, donde conoc\u00ed a un tal <strong>Isa\u00edas\u00a0<em>El Vaquero<\/em><\/strong>, un cantaor estupendo que lo mismo emulaba a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Aquel-jilguero-de-Marchena\/c112t\/5661105c0cf25333685e0a03\">Marchena<\/a>\u00a0que a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Honores-a-Don-Antonio-Fosforito\/c112t\/571d84e50cf26b6d68419e56\">Fosforito<\/a>. Era un gran imitador, pero cantaba como Dios, con unos conocimientos impresionantes. Fue la primera vez que escuch\u00e9 hablar de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Antonio-Chac%C3%B3n\/c112t\/56771a790cf28854b38dc92e\">Chac\u00f3n<\/a>\u00a0y de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Aquel-genial-Ni%C3%B1o-de-Torres\/c112t\/5785bdb80cf2e25833791608\">Manuel Torres<\/a>, de <strong>El Ni\u00f1o Medina<\/strong> y la\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\">Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/a>. Me pregunt\u00f3 que de d\u00f3nde era y cuando le dije que me hab\u00eda criado en Palomares, se qued\u00f3 asombrado. \u201c\u00bfEn Palomares? \u00bfDe qui\u00e9n eres t\u00fa, de qu\u00e9 familia?\u201d, me pregunt\u00f3. Le dije que era sobrino de Ramona, la mujer del Ponce, que mi madre era su hermana, y fue entonces cuando me dijo que \u00e9l era tambi\u00e9n de Palomares, aunque ya iba poco por el pueblo. Me qued\u00e9 de piedra, porque me pareci\u00f3 incre\u00edble el hecho de que el primer cantaor que me meti\u00f3 el cante dentro, en Sevilla, fuera precisamente de Palomares, donde me emocionaba escuchando a aquel viejecito atormentado por el desamor y a Juan Manuel el de la Pura, el que cantaba porque ten\u00eda miedo de la soledad del camino y la negritud de la noche.<\/p>\n<p>El destino me hab\u00eda puesto en el camino a Isa\u00edas\u00a0<em>El Vaquero<\/em>, el hermano de\u00a0<strong><em>El Carlillo<\/em><\/strong>, que tambi\u00e9n cantaba. Como no lo pude conocer en Palomares, al ser solo un ni\u00f1o, me lo volvi\u00f3 a poner en Sevilla a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde. Por eso pienso que no busqu\u00e9 el flamenco, sino que \u00e9l me busc\u00f3 a m\u00ed. Cincuenta a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, aqu\u00ed ando todav\u00eda, enamorado de una m\u00fasica a la que se lo debo casi todo. Bueno, todo.
