Menudo artista se ha ido, <strong>don Servando<\/strong>, elegante como \u00e9l solo y con un empaque flamenco \u00fanico. De los que no sal\u00edan de casa desali\u00f1ado ni para tirar la basura. Era de esa casta, de otra \u00e9poca, de cuando un flamenco no iba con botines deportivos y ch\u00e1ndal, como ahora, que da verg\u00fcenza verlos a veces en un escenario. Creo que fue <strong>Antonio Barber\u00e1n<\/strong> quien me lo present\u00f3 una ma\u00f1ana en C\u00e1diz y enseguida supe que estaba ante un artista de la Tacita. El verdadero artista nace con el don. Es imposible levantarse una ma\u00f1ana y decir voy a ser artista. No, no es as\u00ed. Es algo que te pega tu <em>mare<\/em> en la piel cuando te pare. A partir de aquella ma\u00f1ana lo ve\u00eda casi siempre que iba a la ciudad m\u00e1s bonita del mundo, y la de m\u00e1s arte. No voy mucho ahora, porque es verdad que me llaman poco. Fui bastante para la investigaci\u00f3n de <strong>Antonio el Planeta, L\u00e1zaro Quintana<\/strong> y <strong>Rosario la Mejorana<\/strong>, que era de esa familia. Como <strong>La Cachuchera<\/strong>, t\u00eda de la madre de la <strong>Imperio del Baile<\/strong>. Ni siquiera recuerdo la \u00faltima vez que vi vivo a Chiquito de C\u00e1diz, pero s\u00ed que se acordaba de m\u00ed porque me salud\u00f3 con una sonrisa tan ancha como la Puerta de la Caleta, esa que va del arte a la luz azul. Me sorprendi\u00f3, pero es que los artistas de su generaci\u00f3n eran muy observadores. \u00bfHe dicho artista? \u00bfEs que se puede ser de C\u00e1diz, cantaor de flamenco, y no ser artista? \u00a1Qu\u00e9 cutis ten\u00eda Chiquito y qu\u00e9 elegante era! Y qu\u00e9 \u00e1ngel, o sea, qu\u00e9 arte natural tan embriagador y sencillo. Sevilla ha dado grandes maestros del cante como <strong>Silverio, Manuel Vallejo, Tom\u00e1s Pav\u00f3n<\/strong> o su hermana <strong>Pastora<\/strong>. Jerez ha dado genios como <strong>Don Antonio Chac\u00f3n, Manuel Torres, El Gloria, Terremoto<\/strong> o el <strong>T\u00edo Sordera<\/strong>. C\u00e1diz ha dado artistas como <strong>Peric\u00f3n, el Beni<\/strong>, la inolvidable <strong>do\u00f1a Antonia la Perla<\/strong> y <strong>Juan Villar<\/strong>, entre otros. Bailaoras como la Mejorana y <strong>Gabriela Ortega<\/strong>. Y artistas como Chiquito, don Servando, sencillo como una puesta de sol, que se nos ha ido al cielo de los que nacen con el don. Costar\u00e1 ir a C\u00e1diz y no verlo. Pero habr\u00e1 que ir, habr\u00e1 que volver, porque nadie vive totalmente feliz si no va a C\u00e1diz una o dos veces al a\u00f1o, como m\u00ednimo. Otra opci\u00f3n ser\u00eda mudarse a esa ciudad, que no es descartable. Lo siento mucho, <strong>Paco el Marqu\u00e9s<\/strong>.
