Tard\u00e9 dos o tres a\u00f1os en aceptar que te hab\u00edas ido a ese lugar donde la diferencia no est\u00e1 en los hombres, sino en el fr\u00edo m\u00e1rmol que los cubre. Todav\u00eda no estoy totalmente convencido de tu marcha, porque siempre pens\u00e9 que ser\u00edas inmortal. Lo eres, sin duda, pero, \u00bfte puedo ver, te puedo llamar, podemos quedar para tomar un mosto o un caf\u00e9? No. Eso es lo que me gustar\u00eda y, lamentablemente, es algo imposible, se crea en lo que se crea.<\/p>\n<p>Tard\u00e9 en descubrir al\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Un-dolor-llamado-Morente\/c112t\/5665034b0cf203d325ed5a96\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Morente<\/a>\u00a0m\u00e1s cantaor, el de los primeros a\u00f1os del profesional, cuando con treinta a\u00f1os hab\u00eda demostrado ya que era uno de los cl\u00e1sicos. Como a muchos j\u00f3venes de mi generaci\u00f3n, me enganch\u00f3\u00a0<em>Estrella<\/em>, de su disco\u00a0<em>Despegando<\/em>. \u00a1Y vaya si despeg\u00f3! Yo estaba en un grupo de sevillanas de estos de barrio y cant\u00e1bamos\u00a0<em>Estrella<\/em>\u00a0como una novedad del nuevo flamenco de finales de los setenta, una pieza musical que los puristas no consideraban flamenco.<\/p>\n<p>La primera vez que estrech\u00e9 la mano de Enrique fue en Madrid y me pareci\u00f3 saludar a un marciano. Est\u00e1bamos en la entrada de un hotel de la Gran V\u00eda y, siendo todo en blanco y negro, lo ve\u00eda en color. Esa noche comprend\u00ed que era un artista al que ten\u00eda que seguir hasta el fin del mundo, y as\u00ed fue. Eras distinto a todos en todo, un cantaor cl\u00e1sico que andaba en la modernidad. Un caso raro, maestro.<\/p>\n<p>Estuvimos toda la noche de copas por las salas de Madrid en compa\u00f1\u00eda del pintor sevillano <strong>Antonio Bad\u00eda<\/strong>, tu gran amigo. Me presentaste a las actrices <strong>Mar\u00eda Asquerino<\/strong> y <strong>Pastora Vega<\/strong>, y al gran periodista <strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis Balb\u00edn<\/strong>, el de\u00a0<em>La Clave<\/em>. Te respetaban de una manera que me interes\u00f3 mucho, porque no te trataban como al t\u00edpico flamenquito de \u00a1arza y toma!, sino como a alguien de la cultura comprometido con la situaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica del momento y la m\u00fasica m\u00e1s vanguardista y seria de Europa, que era el flamenco de esos momentos, en los ochenta.<\/p>\n<p>No voy a caer en lo que cayeron aquellos agoreros que aseguraban la muerte del cante cuando murieron\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Antonio-Chac%C3%B3n\/c112t\/56771a790cf28854b38dc92e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chac\u00f3n<\/a>, la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Aquel-jilguero-de-Marchena\/c112t\/5661105c0cf25333685e0a03\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marchena<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Manolo-Caracol\/c112t\/5670b1be0cf274f69813e76e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caracol<\/a>\u00a0o\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/#!Hablando-de-cante-con-Mairena\/c112t\/5760d1d50cf29542aa289730\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mairena<\/a>. El cante no se muere nunca, es imposible, porque se van unos cantaores y llegan otros. Y, adem\u00e1s, dejan su legado cuando se mueren. Reconocer que te fuiste del todo hace ya mismo siete a\u00f1os es restarle importancia a tu obra. Tu escuela est\u00e1 viva, los j\u00f3venes beben en tu fuente y ellos se van a encargar de que seas inmortal.<\/p>\n<p>No puedo pensar en ti sin llorar, porque te echo de menos como no he echado jam\u00e1s de menos a ning\u00fan cantaor. Ni siquiera me voy a esforzar en explicar c\u00f3mo eras de verdad como cantaor y como persona. \u00danico, algo que ser\u00e1 dif\u00edcil que se repita, maestro. Hoy he estado tomando mosto en Palomares del R\u00edo, uno de mis muchos pueblos, que tanto te gustaba. Y me he acordado de ti cuando he visto c\u00f3mo un rayo de sol entraba por una ventana y alumbraba parte de una barrica.<\/p>\n<p>Se te paraba el reloj cuando estabas en el Aljarafe, en Umbrete con nuestro com\u00fan amigo <strong>El Tigre<\/strong> o en Bormujos con <strong>Pepe Gir\u00f3n<\/strong>. Incluso pensaste alguna vez en comprar una casita en esa zona para venir de vez en cuando a darte un ba\u00f1o de sol aljarafe\u00f1o. Te fuiste antes de hacer realidad ese sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Siete a\u00f1os ya de tu muerte, maestro, y parece que fue ayer. El d\u00eda 13 estar\u00e9 en Barcelona, en el estreno de tu R\u00e9quiem. Me apetece estar contigo, porque s\u00e9 que aparecer\u00e1s por all\u00ed. Si no vas, que sepas que llorar\u00e9.
