Fue en Ronda, donde los dos est\u00e1bamos invitados a unas jornadas de estudio dirigidas por el desaparecido cr\u00edtico y escritor\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2015\/8\/28\/Muerte-de-un-cr%C3%ADtico-de-flamenco\">\u00c1ngel \u00c1lvarez Caballero<\/a>. Hablando de los bailaores de su compa\u00f1\u00eda (El Greco, Alejandro Vega, Manolo Vargas, Rafael Ortega\u2026), le hice una observaci\u00f3n: \u201cParece como si los escogieras de unas determinadas caracter\u00edsticas f\u00edsicas, todos muy apa\u00f1ados y con cuerpos estupendos\u201d. Y me dijo que s\u00ed, que para ella era fundamental la est\u00e9tica del bailaor. \u201c\u00a1C\u00f3mo voy a poner en mi cuadro a un bailaor barrig\u00f3n y calvo!\u201d, dijo con su gracia, aunque <strong>Rafael Ortega<\/strong> no tuviera lo que se dice una melena.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, entend\u00ed a Pilar porque en aquellos a\u00f1os se cuidaban mucho los detalles en los cuadros. No es como hoy, que\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-momento-dulce-de-Israel-Galv%C3%A1n\/c112t\/5683464d0cf236d403925031\">Israel Galv\u00e1n<\/a>\u00a0es capaz de sacar palmeros en ch\u00e1ndales. \u00bfExist\u00eda, pues, el bailaor o cantaor florero? Lo cuento porque algunas feministas del flamenco \u2013lo de feminista lo digo con todo el respeto, porque se autodefinen as\u00ed\u2013 han hablado alguna vez de esto, de que se ha utilizado, y a\u00fan se sigue haciendo, como floreros a las mujeres en los cuadros de los tablaos y espect\u00e1culos en general.<\/p>\n<p>A La\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\">Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/a>\u00a0le se\u00f1alaban siempre su escaso atractivo, esto es, que no era una mujer bella, porque en su \u00e9poca era algo casi imprescindible: las artistas bellas entraban mejor en el teatro, aunque no bailaran o cantaran bien. Y hoy siguen entrando mejor en ciertos tablaos, donde tienen\u00a0 en cuenta la buena planta de las mujeres y tambi\u00e9n de los hombres. Sin embargo, cuando llegaron los festivales de verano tras la crisis del flamenco teatral, la est\u00e9tica femenina, y hasta la masculina, empez\u00f3 a importar menos y determinadas cantaoras que no eran muy favorecidas f\u00edsicamente acabaron triunfando por lo que eran, grandes cantaoras. Y algunos cantaores tambi\u00e9n, aunque determinados empresarios y artistas siguieran cuidando la mucho la est\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfHan visto alguna vez a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Hablando-de-cante-con-Mairena\/c112t\/5760d1d50cf29542aa289730\">Antonio Mairena<\/a>\u00a0cantando con peluqu\u00edn? Lo hizo, porque cuando cantaba para bailar se lo exig\u00edan. Luego no le importaba lucir su estupenda calva en pe\u00f1as y festivales, y tambi\u00e9n en el teatro, porque no fue un hombre excesivamente coqueto, aunque, eso s\u00ed, elegante y siempre con gran respeto al p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>No quiero decir con esto que Pilar L\u00f3pez tuviera en su compa\u00f1\u00eda a los citados bailaores porque eran guapos y estaban bien hechos, sino porque eran grandes bailaores y bailarines. Pero la est\u00e9tica influ\u00eda bastante en aquellos a\u00f1os y existieron los artistas floreros, no solo las mujeres. Y las buenas hechuras de los bailaores de los cuadros eran muy valiosas para determinados artistas y empresarios.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-a%C3%B1o-de-Juan-Valderrama\/c112t\/560dd5620cf2a7bb74c22e90\">Juanito Valderrama<\/a>\u00a0me habl\u00f3 muchas veces de este tema y de c\u00f3mo\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Aquel-jilguero-de-Marchena\/c112t\/5661105c0cf25333685e0a03\">Pepe Marchena<\/a>\u00a0o\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Sevilla-se-olvid%C3%B3-de-Pepe-Pinto\/c112t\/56a8644c0cf2296307164596\">El Pinto<\/a>\u00a0eran muy exigentes con los artistas de su compa\u00f1\u00eda, a los que exig\u00edan siempre ir bien arreglados para salir al escenario. El genio de Marchena llev\u00f3 en los a\u00f1os cuarenta una compa\u00f1\u00eda a un pueblo de M\u00e1laga que no recuerdo y decidi\u00f3 incluir a alg\u00fan aficionado de la localidad para meter m\u00e1s p\u00fablico en el teatro, algo muy normal en aquellos a\u00f1os. Cont\u00f3 con un tal Ni\u00f1o de la Espartera, un jornalero del campo, al que le oblig\u00f3 a ponerse un traje y un sombrero cordob\u00e9s, porque cantaba por el maestro. Le cost\u00f3 trabajo, aunque lo convenci\u00f3. Pero minutos antes de salir al escenario, el buen hombre decidi\u00f3 quitarse el traje y el sombrero porque sab\u00eda que se iban a re\u00edr de \u00e9l sus paisanos y se plant\u00f3 en el escenario con su ropa habitual y una gorra campera.
