Es el caso de <strong>Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez de los Santos<\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/11\/10\/Antonio-El-Chaqueta\">El Chaqueta<\/a>, de quien estamos conmemorando el centenario de su nacimiento. Naci\u00f3 en La L\u00ednea de la Concepci\u00f3n (C\u00e1diz), el 10 de mayo de 1918. Hijo de un gitano malague\u00f1o, Jos\u00e9 Fern\u00e1ndez Vargas, y de una gitana jerezana, Tomasa de los Santos Moreno. Se cri\u00f3, pues, en un ambiente propicio.<\/p>\n<p>Era hermano del gran bailaor Tom\u00e1s el Chaqueta, aunque solo de madre. Tanto su madre como su padre, El Mono, cantaban muy bien. Fue su t\u00edo Tom\u00e1s quien lo empez\u00f3 a meter en el mundillo, primero en Sevilla y m\u00e1s tarde en otras ciudades claves de este arte. Recuerdo que el Maestro Peana, guitarrista sevillano, me cont\u00f3 en una ocasi\u00f3n c\u00f3mo disfrutaba escuch\u00e1ndolo otro\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-abuelo-recuerda-a-Tom%C3%A1s-Pav%C3%B3n\/c112t\/56ef66b60cf276e9de24fb4d\">Tom\u00e1s<\/a>, el hermano de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\">Pastora<\/a>, por quien Antonio sinti\u00f3 siempre devoci\u00f3n. Tom\u00e1s lo llamaba Antoni\u00f1o el Mono, que as\u00ed fue conocido El Chaqueta hasta que su hermano decidi\u00f3 que se anunciara como Antonio el Chaqueta.<\/p>\n<p>Antonio el Chaqueta era sobre todo cantaor de cantaores y artista de artistas, y de estos casos no ha habido muchos en la historia del cante. Era conocido, pero no muy popular. Y era sobre todo una referencia para aquellos que supieron encontrar en \u00e9l el tesoro que ten\u00eda en la garganta, con aquel sonido tan peculiar y el enorme dominio del comp\u00e1s que ten\u00eda, que le permit\u00eda jugar con \u00e9l y hacer unos trabalenguas \u00fanicos. Por eso se lo rifaban las bailaoras y bailaores, como\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!%C2%A1Carmen-La-Capitana\/c112t\/55f749310cf23d0ff003f44d\">Carmen Amaya<\/a>\u00a0\u2013era muy ni\u00f1o cuando le cant\u00f3 la primera vez\u2013, la reina del baile gitano.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Dios te ha dado la gracia,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Mar\u00eda Dolores.\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Y en tus ojos en vez de miradas<\/em><br \/>\n<em>hay rayos de sol.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>D\u00e9jame que te cante\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>morena de mis amores,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>un bolero que embruje<\/em><br \/>\n<em>tu garbo que es muy espa\u00f1ol.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Esta canci\u00f3n por buler\u00edas, que Antonio grab\u00f3 en 1950 con el guitarrista Paco Aguilera, es lo m\u00e1s conocido de su repertorio. Tambi\u00e9n\u00a0<em>En la noche negra<\/em>, o aquel bolero por buler\u00edas,\u00a0<em>Nadie se haga de ilusiones<\/em>, de la misma fecha. Y c\u00f3mo no destacar sus tanguillos,\u00a0<em>Senta\u00edto en la escalera<\/em>. Un genio, sin duda, al que ador\u00f3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/06\/18\/%E2%80%8B-Un-cuarto-de-siglo-sin-Camar%C3%B3n\">Camar\u00f3n<\/a>, quien fue de los pocos que hablaba de \u00e9l cuando casi nadie lo hac\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Pero adem\u00e1s de un festero de los mejores de todos los tiempos, El Chaqueta cant\u00f3 de bien para arriba por sole\u00e1 y seguiriyas, utilizando como pocos la dif\u00edcil t\u00e9cnica del ligado de los tercios. Es quiz\u00e1 lo menos conocido por los aficionados. Todo, en su conjunto, hace de este hist\u00f3rico artista una ineludible referencia. Hablar de Antonio el Chaqueta es hacerlo de uno de los m\u00e1s grandes, aunque no llegara a ser una lumbrera de cartel.
