En la Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla<\/strong> suelo reflexionar mucho sobre lo que veo y escucho y les aseguro que a veces me desanimo bastante. No me gust\u00f3 Arena<\/em>, la obra de\u00a0Israel Gav\u00e1n<\/a><\/strong>, en la Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza, pero al final acabaron todos dando la vuelta al ruedo y con parte del p\u00fablico en pie y aplaudiendo. Ya me hab\u00eda ido y lo vi al d\u00eda siguiente en un v\u00eddeo. Nada que objetar a esos aficionados, si les gust\u00f3 el espect\u00e1culo, aunque tengo que reconocer que me preocupa el hecho de que en la Bienal se aplauda todo, porque el flamenco ha sido siempre un arte de aficionados.<\/p>\n

Recuerdo que\u00a0Antonio el Sevillano<\/a><\/strong>, el gran estilista del fandango, me coment\u00f3 un d\u00eda que la\u00a0Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0se baj\u00f3 una noche del escenario porque hab\u00eda entrado un p\u00fablico que lo aplaud\u00eda todo y que todo lo vitoreaba, y se enfad\u00f3. \u201cHay que sab\u00e9 estingu\u00ed\u201d, dijo.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9 muy bien que el flamenco es una cuesti\u00f3n de gustos. A m\u00ed no me gusta ahora tanto Israel Galv\u00e1n como al principio de su carrera, me aburren bastante sus obras y suelo pasar de ir a verlo a no ser que no lo pueda evitar. Reconozco su arte y preparaci\u00f3n y celebro que sea hoy uno de los referentes del baile flamenco en el mundo, pero me dej\u00f3 de interesar como aficionado que soy al baile. Por tanto, como entiendo que hay que ser coherentes, cuando lo veo me expreso con libertad y digo lo que me ha parecido. \u00bfEs esto tan dif\u00edcil de entender? Parece ser que s\u00ed, que lo es.<\/p>\n

No me gusta mucho el formato de la Bienal, me parece horrible, entre otras cosas porque para atender tanta demanda de entradas hay que meter de todo y no todo es de calidad. Y a la Bienal tendr\u00eda que venir lo mejor, con independencia de que haya que dar entrada a j\u00f3venes con escasa experiencia, pero que apunten bien. Pongo un ejemplo. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 han tra\u00eddo este a\u00f1o a Rosal\u00eda<\/strong>, siendo tan mal cantaora? Ser\u00e1 buena en lo suyo, pero el cante jondo no lo huele. \u00bfSaben cu\u00e1ntas buenas cantaoras se dar\u00edan bofetadas por estar en la Bienal? Y\u00e9ndonos al baile, uno de los mejores bailaores del momento y desde hace a\u00f1os, es\u00a0El Junco<\/a><\/strong>, y le echan para atr\u00e1s todos los proyectos que presenta. No lo quieren en la Bienal y no s\u00e9 muy bien por qu\u00e9, porque es bueno.<\/p>\n

Me duelen las manos de escribir que los festivales tienen una responsabilidad con nuestro arte, que no se trata solo de vender entradas. Pero habr\u00eda que empezar por decir que no se puede poner al frente de un festival a cualquiera, y se hace.<\/p>\n

\u2014 \u00bfTan mal est\u00e1 la cosa?
\n<\/strong>
\n\u2014 Si quieres saber c\u00f3mo est\u00e1 el flamenco, ve al festival de Mairena del Alcor. Mira, yo conozco Austria, y all\u00ed todos los a\u00f1os se le hace un homenaje a Mozart. Aqu\u00ed, en cambio, a don Antonio Mairena lo est\u00e1n tirando por el alcantarillado.

\nEsto lo dijo el pasado domingo\u00a0Jos\u00e9 el de la Tomasa<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0en El Correo de Andaluc\u00eda<\/em>, en una entrevista de Alejandro Luque<\/strong><\/a>. Puede sonar a pataleta y estar\u00eda justificado porque lleva diecis\u00e9is a\u00f1os sin cantar en el festival mairenero, siendo uno de los \u00faltimos grandes maestros del cante jondo y un enamorado de la escuela mairenera. \u00bfCuesti\u00f3n de gustos del alcalde? Seguramente. Pero por encima de los gustos y de la necesidad de llevar dos mil personas a un festival, est\u00e1 la sensatez y la responsabilidad.<\/p>\n
