{"id":3515,"date":"2018-11-06T18:18:55","date_gmt":"2018-11-06T18:18:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=3515"},"modified":"2019-03-26T21:31:01","modified_gmt":"2019-03-26T20:31:01","slug":"un-rotundo-ezequiel-benitez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/un-rotundo-ezequiel-benitez\/","title":{"rendered":"Un rotundo Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cuando nos referimos a la nueva hornada de voces importantes pocas veces nombramos al jerezano\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/entrevistas-archivos\/ezequiel-benitez-y-sus-recuerd2\">Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez<\/a><\/strong>, cuando es ya una voz consolidada y de calidad flamenca. Cada vez que lo escucho me acuerdo de una conversaci\u00f3n que tuve un d\u00eda con\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!So%C3%B1ando-con-El-Chocolate\/c112t\/567771680cf203da56e68612\">Antonio el Chocolate<\/a><\/strong>, en su casa, sobre el cante cl\u00e1sico y las innovaciones. Antonio dec\u00eda que hab\u00eda unas formas musicales en el cante que estaban muy bien hechas y que interpretarlas con fidelidad era tan importante como hacer algo nuevo. Estoy totalmente de acuerdo con esta opini\u00f3n de alguien que supo ser fiel a una escuela y que, adem\u00e1s, cre\u00f3 cosas suyas tambi\u00e9n, como sus fandangos o algunos giros de seguiriyas o soleares que permanecen.<\/p>\n<p>El maestro hablaba de\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/arturo-pavon-un-cantaor-de-armas-tomar\">Arturo<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0y de\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-abuelo-recuerda-a-Tom%C3%A1s-Pav%C3%B3n\/c112t\/56ef66b60cf276e9de24fb4d\">Tom\u00e1s Pav\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0como modelos que sigui\u00f3, aunque sol\u00eda decir que lo hac\u00eda todo a su manera. Y es que Chocolate no imit\u00f3 jam\u00e1s a nadie, porque fue un cantaor an\u00e1rquico. Se ci\u00f1\u00f3 a una escuela, y eso es lo que hace Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez, salvando las distancias. Es un excelente copista, y esto no lo digo porque piense que no tiene su personalidad, porque la tiene, pero es m\u00e1s int\u00e9rprete que creador y su voz no es algo nuevo sino un sonido que identificamos pronto con los de Jerez y Sevilla. Ezequiel es jerezano y muy castizo, pero podr\u00eda ser tambi\u00e9n de Triana o de Utrera, porque si adora a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/aquel-genial-nino-de-torres\">Manuel Torres<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0o a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Antonio-Chac%C3%B3n\/c112t\/56771a790cf28854b38dc92e\">Chac\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n a Tom\u00e1s y\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Manuel-Vallejo\/c112t\/56eb88420cf29acca8a2292d\">Vallejo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Lo primero que destacar\u00eda de este gran cantaor son sus conocimientos de todo el cante, algo que no es extra\u00f1o si decimos que es hijo de <strong>Alfredo Ben\u00edtez<\/strong>, el gran aficionado jerezano, quien le inculc\u00f3 desde ni\u00f1o la pasi\u00f3n por el cante. Recuerdo que una d\u00eda hablamos de cante Alfredo, Diego Alba y Ezequiel, y me asombr\u00f3 el hecho de que un adolescente supiera tanto de cante y tuviera ese amor por <strong>Chac\u00f3n, Torres,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\">Pastora<\/a>, Tom\u00e1s,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/11\/10\/Antonio-El-Chaqueta\">El Chaqueta<\/a>, Vallejo o\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Aquel-jilguero-de-Marchena\/c112t\/5661105c0cf25333685e0a03\">Marchena<\/a><\/strong>. Ya entonces, cuando ten\u00eda 16 a\u00f1os, supe que est\u00e1bamos ante un futuro cantaor de los que har\u00edan cosas importantes como estos dos discos,\u00a0<em>Quimeras del tiempo<\/em>, donde canta de bien para arriba.<\/p>\n<p>En el segundo volumen, la primera pieza ya me enamor\u00f3 nada m\u00e1s escucharla. Una honda y flamenqu\u00edsima versi\u00f3n de la buler\u00eda\u00a0<em>Mar\u00eda Magdalena<\/em>, del sevillano <strong>Manuel Vallejo<\/strong>. Es admirable la interpretaci\u00f3n que hace de esta canci\u00f3n por buler\u00edas, cuando Ezequiel es muy distinto al cantaor sevillano, con otro tipo de voz, de timbre. Por tanto, se ci\u00f1e al patr\u00f3n pero sin impostar la voz y logra un cante con hondura, un comp\u00e1s muy conseguido y el sentimiento que le pone a todo. <strong>Jos\u00e9 de Pura<\/strong> le toca la guitarra de esc\u00e1ndalo. A la fiesta por buler\u00edas de cierre tambi\u00e9n le imprime Ezequiel mucho sentimiento y se crea una atm\u00f3sfera encantadora entre todos, el guitarrista\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Diego-del-Morao-y-El-Pira%C3%B1a\/c112t\/5695885a0cf2e94e3fb4a119\">Diego del Morao<\/a><\/strong>, los palmeros y el cantaor. En su recuerdo del <strong>Barrio de Santiago<\/strong>, donde se ha cantado por buler\u00edas como en ninguna otra parte de Andaluc\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Hay palos muy serios, como la sole\u00e1 dedicada a <strong>Mar\u00eda Bala<\/strong>, los fandangos por buler\u00edas del <strong>Ni\u00f1o Gloria<\/strong>, los tangos o las dos malague\u00f1as de Chac\u00f3n. Incluso una guajira muy personal. Un trabajo muy interesante por cuanto tiene de reivindicaci\u00f3n de una manera de cantar y una zona de Andaluc\u00eda, Jerez, donde si no naci\u00f3 el cante, lo gestaron. Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez es un pedazo de cantaor y, aunque ocupa un lugar importante entre los nuevos maestros, deber\u00eda estar m\u00e1s considerado. Por una cosa, sobre todo. Porque le tiene un gran respeto al legado de los maestros e interpreta todo con mucho amor y una pasi\u00f3n incre\u00edbles.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de <strong>Pepe de Pura<\/strong> y <strong>Diego del Morao<\/strong>, le tocan <strong>Juan Diego Mateos,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/01\/17\/Gerardo-N%C3%BA%C3%B1ez\">Gerardo N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/a>, Nono Jero,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Antonio-Reyes-y-Antonio-Higuero\/c112t\/57a8cc0d0cf2b4e1e13169e3\">Antonio Higuero<\/a>, Javier Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/strong> y <strong>Paco Le\u00f3n<\/strong>.
