Su malogrado y anticipado adi\u00f3s, justo cuando iba a grabar un disco de larga duraci\u00f3n a los 50 a\u00f1os de edad, agrav\u00f3 esta penosa circunstancia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez nunca tuvo la consideraci\u00f3n que debiera, sobre todo en su ciudad natal. Eso s\u00ed, mucho a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su fallecimiento en 1971, grandes artistas supieron ver la excelente calidad interpretativa de Sernita de Jerez. De alg\u00fan modo, pese a la penumbra en la que se encontraba, reivindicaron su cante y su figura con verdadera devoci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Es por ello que en esta segunda parte acudo a estos peque\u00f1os homenajes a los cantes de El Serna, algunos muy expl\u00edcitos y otros en forma de dedicatoria. Tales son los casos de <strong>Enrique Morente<\/strong>, quien sabemos era un gran admirador del santiaguero; <strong>Mar\u00eda Sole\u00e1<\/strong>, la hermana de Terremoto; <strong>Vicente Soto Sordera<\/strong> en su <em>Tr\u00edptico flamenco<\/em>; <strong>Diego Carrasco<\/strong>, quien le tributa uno de los primeros homenajes en el disco; <strong>Juan Moneo <em>El Torta<\/em><\/strong> como base de su buler\u00eda <em>Colores morenos<\/em>; o <strong>Jes\u00fas M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, representando a la nueva hornada de cantaores con la siguiriya y cabal <em>Qu\u00e9 dol\u00f3 de mi Serna<\/em>, que tuve la suerte de escribir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Y es que la verdad siempre resplandece cuando la hay.
