Su muerte, pues, el pasado domingo me dej\u00f3 una gran tristeza porque en mis inicios como aficionado fue muy importante para m\u00ed. Incluso cantaba sus cosas, cuando quer\u00eda ser cantaor. \u00c9l,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/06\/18\/%E2%80%8B-Un-cuarto-de-siglo-sin-Camar%C3%B3n\">Camar\u00f3n<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/07\/23\/El-Chozas-de-Sevilla\">El Chozas<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-Lebrijano\/c112t\/56fddd580cf2d5ab7777c848\">Lebrijano\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>y\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Un-dolor-llamado-Morente\/c112t\/5665034b0cf203d325ed5a96\">Morente<\/a><\/strong>, entre otros como\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/07\/23\/El-Turronero\">Turronero<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/12\/29\/Gabriel-Moreno-y-F%C3%A9lix-de-Utrera\">Gabriel Moreno<\/a>, eran mis \u00eddolos en el cante. Pero Antonio Chiquetete no era solo un cantaor que me gustaba, sino un artista al que segu\u00eda por los festivales andaluces. Con el paso del tiempo, su deriva comercial dej\u00f3 de interesarme y me despegu\u00e9 bastante de \u00e9l. No es que no valorara lo nuevo que hac\u00eda, sino que fui evolucionando y empezaron a interesarme m\u00e1s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/06\/14\/Hablando-de-cante-con-Mairena\">Mairena<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!La-Paquera-de-Jerez\/c112t\/55f74acd0cf2de902a86840d\">La Paquera<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/04\/20\/Honores-a-Menese-en-Guadalajara\">Menese<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Honores-a-Don-Antonio-Fosforito\/c112t\/571d84e50cf26b6d68419e56\">Fosforito<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!%C2%BFQu%C3%A9-se-ha-llevado-Agujetas\/c112t\/56805d8b0cf23a10fe36da2a\"><strong>Agujetas<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>o\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/09\/08\/Miguel-Vargas\">Miguel Vargas<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Chiquetete ha sido uno de los m\u00e1s grandes, pero en el cante jondo no logr\u00f3 consolidarse en una figura de \u00e9poca. Es verdad que tuvo que destacar en una \u00e9poca de grandes del cante y que no le fue f\u00e1cil, pero se fue a lo m\u00e1s comercial porque le costaba mantenerse entre Lebrijano, Camar\u00f3n,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Pansequito-y-Ni%C3%B1o-de-Pura\/c112t\/573bb4c20cf20a8824ddf228\">Pansequito<\/a>\u00a0y Morente. Y no es porque no tuviera calidad, que la ten\u00eda en muchos palos \u2013los festeros, sobre todo\u2013, sino porque le falt\u00f3 la jondura, eso que no se aprende en ninguna escuela, sino que se nace con ella como les pas\u00f3 a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Manolo-Caracol\/c112t\/5670b1be0cf274f69813e76e\">Caracol<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/cumpleanos-de-antonio-el-chaqueta\">El Chaqueta<\/a>, Antonio Mairena,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Juan-Talega-y-Diego-del-Gastor\/c112t\/56ef6b400cf276e9de24fd1a\">Juan Talega<\/a>, Manuel Agujetas,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!So%C3%B1ando-con-El-Chocolate\/c112t\/567771680cf203da56e68612\">Chocolate<\/a>\u00a0o la\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Cuarenta-y-seis-a%C3%B1os-sin-Pastora\/c112t\/565548780cf2a1cf6d1811d5\">Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Antonio estuvo a\u00f1os sin hablarme por una mala cr\u00edtica que le hice en la Bienal de 1996, titulada\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/manuelbohorquez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/prensa-critica-1996-chiquetete.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Confunden el Maestranza con la Caseta de Feria de Ecovol<\/em><\/a>. Actu\u00f3 en el festival sevillano y fue un espect\u00e1culo tan lamentable que tuve que contarlo por derecho. Pero un d\u00eda, a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, coincidimos en una fiesta en el Roc\u00edo y se vino para m\u00ed a darme la mano, con lo que demostraba su nobleza. Antonio era noble, buena persona, y como artista no lo vamos a descubrir ahora que ha muerto. Uno de los grandes, sin duda, del cante flamenco y la canci\u00f3n moderna.<\/p>\n<p>Lo recuerdo cantando en el tablao sevillano <strong>La Trocha<\/strong> antes de ser conocido. Ya ten\u00eda una enorme personalidad cantando para bailar, disciplina en la que destac\u00f3 antes de que se dedicara a cantar en solitario y fuera de los cuadros. No ganaba entonces ni mil pesetas por noche, cuando ya ganaban cien mil algunos cantaores de su generaci\u00f3n en los festivales de verano de los pueblos. As\u00ed que en cuanto pudo,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/un-recuerdo-para-pulpon\">Pulp\u00f3n<\/a>\u00a0empez\u00f3 a meterlo en la lista y cuando lleg\u00f3 a los festivales fue como un soplo de aire fresco. En contra, claro, de los m\u00e1s puristas, que no vieron con buenos ojos su llegada a algunos festivales, los m\u00e1s cerrados.<\/p>\n<p>Nada de eso evit\u00f3 que el cantaor trianero se consagrara como una de las grandes figuras del cante de esa \u00e9poca.
