As\u00ed lo ha proclamado en la presentaci\u00f3n que ha tenido lugar en Sevilla, en el restaurante Meridional, en el c\u00e9ntrico barrio de La Alfalfa.<\/p>\n<p>Enmarcado por los fogones al aire del local, donde recib\u00eda su \u00faltimo hervor un potaje gitano de dise\u00f1o, Miguel Mar\u00edn dio la bienvenida a los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n, artistas, amigos y autoridades pol\u00edticas. Entre estas \u00faltimas se encontraban la consejera de Cultura y Patrimonio Hist\u00f3rico de la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda, <strong>Patricia del Pozo<\/strong>, la gerente de la Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales, <strong>Almudena Bocanegra<\/strong>, la directora general de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, <strong>Isabel Ojeda<\/strong>, y <strong>Antonio Zoido<\/strong>, director de la Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00abEl festival se ha posicionado como el principal motor para la promoci\u00f3n del flamenco en la escena internacional\u00bb (Miguel Mar\u00edn)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Mar\u00edn esboz\u00f3 a grandes trazos el formato del festival, con unas cifras impresionantes. Del 12 de marzo al 5 de abril, Flamenco Festival tomar\u00e1 la Gran Manzana con un total de 79 funciones a cargo de 30 compa\u00f1\u00edas en 20 espacios diferentes. Entre los m\u00e1s importantes cabe destacar el New York City Center, The Town Hall, el Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge o el Skirball. La cifra estimada de espectadores ronda los 40.000. De este modo, y desde 2001, el festival \u00abse ha posicionado como el principal motor para la promoci\u00f3n del flamenco en la escena internacional\u00bb. Mar\u00edn defendi\u00f3 la iniciativa privada y la necesidad del apoyo de las instituciones p\u00fablicas.<\/p>\n<p>Bajo el lema <em>Breaking walls, uniting worlds<\/em> \u2013rompiendo muros, uniendo mundos\u2013, <strong>Flamenco Festival New York<\/strong> apuesta decididamente por la ruptura con la tradici\u00f3n para la construcci\u00f3n de un lenguaje sonoro nuevo. Prueba de ello es la inauguraci\u00f3n de la cita por parte del bailaor <strong>Israel Galv\u00e1n<\/strong>. La participaci\u00f3n de artistas vanguardistas, como <strong>Roc\u00edo Molina, Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez, Eduardo Guerrero, Los Voluble<\/strong> y <strong>Rosario la Tremendita<\/strong>. O la inclusi\u00f3n en el elenco del pol\u00e9mico <strong>Ni\u00f1o de Elche<\/strong>. El contrapunto lo pondr\u00e1n el cantaor <strong>Rancapino Chico, Santiago Lara, Mar\u00eda Pag\u00e9s<\/strong> y <strong>Mercedes Ruiz<\/strong>, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>El director del festival estuvo arropado por una representaci\u00f3n de los artistas participantes, que fueron tomando la palabra uno tras otro. Entre ellos, Mar\u00eda Pag\u00e9s, Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez, Miguel Heredia, Lin Cort\u00e9s, Mar\u00eda Moreno, Los Voluble, Rancapino Chico y Mercedes Ruiz. Tambi\u00e9n se dirigi\u00f3 a los presentes <strong>Jes\u00fas Carmona<\/strong>, representante de la Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE, que retoma su programa <strong><em>Flamenco E\u00f1e<\/em><\/strong>. La presentaci\u00f3n estuvo amenizada con la performance de otra artista de vanguardia, <strong>Maui de Utrera<\/strong>, y la guitarra de <strong>Paco Soto<\/strong>.
