Febrero nos trae el Festival de Jerez, que es para muchos aficionados el mejor de todos. La ciudad gaditana es cuna de buen flamenco desde hace casi dos siglos, donde han nacido muchos de los mejores cantaores de la historia, como, por citar solo a dos, Chac\u00f3n<\/strong> y Manuel Torres<\/strong>; bailaoras como La Macarrona<\/strong> y La Malena<\/strong>, y guitarristas como Javier Molina, Manuel Morao, Paco Cepero<\/strong> y Mora\u00edto<\/strong>. Sin Jerez, el flamenco no ser\u00eda lo que es. No s\u00e9 d\u00f3nde est\u00e1 el secreto o cu\u00e1l es el misterio, pero ese milagro ocurre en esa zona del mundo y no en otro lado.<\/p>\n

En Sevilla, por ejemplo, el flamenco no atraviesa su mejor \u00e9poca, a pesar de sus pe\u00f1as, los tablaos\u00a0 y la Bienal. Fue la Meca en el siglo XIX y en el XX, pero en la actualidad no es ni la sombra de lo que fue. Se han perdido aquellos locales donde se reun\u00edan los artistas cada d\u00eda para hablar de arte y meterse en fiesta. Vas a Sevilla, te dan ganas de tomar una copa con los artistas y te preguntas que d\u00f3nde paran. En ning\u00fan sitio, eso se acab\u00f3. Entras en Triana y, salvo que te encuentres por casualidad a alguno, parece que has entrado en cualquier otro barrio de Espa\u00f1a, con lo que Triana fue. Recuerdo con a\u00f1oranza la Taberna El Altozano<\/strong>, del gitano Joselito L\u00e9rida<\/strong>, donde te sol\u00edas encontrar con El Mimbre, Pansequito, Manuel Molina, El Marsell\u00e9s, Aurora Vargas, Naranjito<\/strong> y muchos m\u00e1s. O El Morapio<\/strong>, en la calle Pelay Correa, donde paraban muchos de los que formaron Triana Pura: El Pati y Pastora; El Herej\u00eda, El Breva, El Juani, El Coco, Pepa la Calzona o La Frasca. Paseabas por La Cava, la calle Pages del Corro, y ve\u00edas andar a personas, artistas o no, que iban derramando canela en rama por las aceras.<\/p>\n

\u00abEn ninguna ciudad del mundo puede darse la concentraci\u00f3n de artistas y espect\u00e1culos que va a tener lugar este mes en Jerez. En ninguna\u00bb<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

En Jerez, en cambio, siguen existiendo tabernas, tabancos y locales modernos donde te encuentras con frecuencia a los artistas de la tierra: Fernando el de la Morena, Luis el Zambo, El Capullo, Diego Carrasco, Mateo Sole\u00e1<\/strong> y un sinf\u00edn de ellos. Y, adem\u00e1s, te das un paseo por La Plazuela o el Barrio de Santiago y a\u00fan huele todo a flamenco, las pescader\u00edas y carnicer\u00edas, los bares, las casas. Ya s\u00e9 que habr\u00e1 quien diga que nada en Jerez es como hace algunas d\u00e9cadas, como ocurre en C\u00e1diz, Sevilla o M\u00e1laga. Pero en Jerez sigue hirviendo el flamenco, como hierven a\u00fan los pucheros en algunos sitios de esa m\u00e1gica ciudad. Dentro de poco tienen el Festival de Jerez<\/a>, uno de los mejores del mundo, pero, adem\u00e1s, han creado otro festival paralelo, el Festival Flamenco Off Jerez<\/a>, que parece consolidarse, y otro m\u00e1s, que celebrar\u00e1 este a\u00f1o su primera edici\u00f3n. Estos dos, creados aprovechando el ambiente y el tir\u00f3n del festival que hoy nos ocupa.<\/p>\n

Y luego est\u00e1n las pe\u00f1as flamencas. En ninguna ciudad del mundo puede darse la concentraci\u00f3n de artistas y espect\u00e1culos que va a tener lugar este mes en Jerez. En ninguna. Vienen aficionados y aficionadas de todo el mundo, unos a disfrutar del buen ambiente y de los espect\u00e1culos y otros a participar en los muchos cursos que se dar\u00e1n este mismo mes, de artistas que a veces solo van a eso, a dar cursos, porque el mundo quiere aprender flamenco. Naturalmente, alguna vez he ido al Festival de Jerez y luego me he perdido por las calles m\u00e1s t\u00edpicas de la ciudad para vivir ese ambiente y, con algo de suerte, poder estar en alguna fiesta particular o reuni\u00f3n de artistas como algunos de los citados. El que vive ese ambiente una vez, regresa al a\u00f1o siguiente, porque no hay nada que enganche m\u00e1s a este arte que una reuni\u00f3n de genios en un tabanco, disfrutando entre ellos, improvisando, contando an\u00e9cdotas y mostr\u00e1ndose tal y como son de verdad, sin nadie que les diga d\u00f3nde tienen que ponerse o c\u00f3mo se deben vestir. Este a\u00f1o volver\u00e9 a Jerez, o esa es mi intenci\u00f3n, porque un d\u00eda o dos en esa ciudad, con el ambiente ya narrado, te carga las pilas para el resto del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n
