{"id":14645,"date":"2019-08-12T11:59:17","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T09:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=14645"},"modified":"2019-08-12T11:59:17","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T09:59:17","slug":"tomas-y-el-sevillano-en-la-barqueta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/bordonazo\/tomas-y-el-sevillano-en-la-barqueta\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom\u00e1s y El Sevillano en La Barqueta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Me cont\u00f3 un d\u00eda <strong>Antonio el Sevillano<\/strong>, el gran cantaor, que una noche se juntaron unos amigos para meterse de fiesta con <strong>Tom\u00e1s Pav\u00f3n<\/strong>. Antonio cantaba, pero a\u00fan no era profesional. Fueron a la Alameda y recogieron a Tom\u00e1s en un coche para llevarlo a un caser\u00edo que estaba m\u00e1s o menos donde hoy est\u00e1 Isla M\u00e1gica, en La Barqueta. El guitarrista era <strong>Currito el de la Geroma<\/strong>, que fue muy amigo de Tom\u00e1s. Estaba ya enfermo, tan enfermo que muri\u00f3 meses despu\u00e9s. Pero fue un guitarrista genial, cantaba mejor todav\u00eda y tocaba el piano por buler\u00edas. Tom\u00e1s no hab\u00eda cumplido a\u00fan los cuarenta a\u00f1os cuando tuvo lugar esta reuni\u00f3n y, seg\u00fan Antonio, estaba \u201cen forma\u201d. Tard\u00f3 en cantar, porque sol\u00eda charlar mucho de cante cuando estaba con amigos que chanelaban.<\/p>\n<p>En el caser\u00edo hab\u00eda una gramola y estuvieron escuchando discos de <strong>Marchena, El Carbonero<\/strong> y <strong>Pastora<\/strong>. A\u00fan viv\u00eda El Carbonerillo y contaba El Sevillano que a Tom\u00e1s le encantaba, y que habl\u00f3 maravillas de \u00e9l. Sol\u00eda frecuentar mucho la casa de Pastora, con la que cant\u00f3 mucho en los espect\u00e1culos de la \u00d3pera flamenca, unas veces con el <strong>Pinto<\/strong> y otras no. Si escuchan bien los discos de El Carbonero, era de esa escuela y en soleares y seguiriyas buscaba mucho a Tom\u00e1s. Sobre todo cuando hac\u00eda los cantes largos de <strong>El Mellizo<\/strong>: <em>Me gusta a m\u00ed esta serrana\/ porque la encuentro a mi apa\u00f1o<\/em>. Escuchen tambi\u00e9n a Tom\u00e1s en <em>A mi mare de mi alma\/ lo que la camelo yo. <\/em>Ver\u00e1n la influencia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Tom\u00e1s y Reyes se casaron in art\u00edculo mortis, con \u00e9l agonizando, para que ella heredera sus cosas. Y sus cosas eran tres ca\u00f1as de pescar, dos jaulas de p\u00e1jaros, una gramola, discos de pizarra, dos relojes de bolsillo y algunas novelas.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cuando Tom\u00e1s y Currito comenzaron a hacer su trabajo, es decir, a cantar y a tocar la guitarra, sorprendi\u00f3 a todos haciendo fandangos de El Carbonerillo. \u201cLos calcaba\u201d, me dijo Antonio. Y me cont\u00f3 que esa noche no solo cant\u00f3 los fandangos del genio macareno, sino malague\u00f1as de <strong>Chac\u00f3n<\/strong> y tarantas de <strong>Escacena<\/strong>. Ten\u00eda, al parecer, una gran facilidad para imitar las voces de otros cantaores. Esto me recuerda la noche en que <strong>Enrique Morente<\/strong> me cant\u00f3 por sole\u00e1 en Madrid, en una sala de fiesta, para demostrarme lo f\u00e1cil que era el cante de <strong>Juan Talega<\/strong>. Cerrabas los ojos y era Juan.<\/p>\n<p>La fiesta con Tom\u00e1s en La Barqueta dur\u00f3 hasta por la ma\u00f1ana y me dijo Antonio que Tom\u00e1s cant\u00f3 esa noche como no hab\u00eda escuchado jam\u00e1s a nadie. Y que a la hora de cobrar, dijo: \u201cNo puedo cobrar por cantarles a ustedes, que sois buenos <em>chanelaores<\/em>, pero cualquiera no le da a la Reyes nada para el guiso de ma\u00f1ana\u201d. Reyes era su mujer, <strong>Reyes Berm\u00fadez Camacho<\/strong>, hija del cantaor <strong>Antonio Berm\u00fadez <em>El Baboso<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Las fatiguitas que pas\u00f3 la pobre mujer por las rarezas de Tom\u00e1s Pav\u00f3n. Pero fue muy feliz al lado de un genio del cante, quien cuando vio que se iba a morir le dijo: \u201cReyes, nos vamos a casar para que te queden al menos mis cosas y no tengas problemas\u201d. Y se casaron <em>in art\u00edculo mortis<\/em>, con Tom\u00e1s agonizando.
