{"id":14481,"date":"2015-09-25T21:30:03","date_gmt":"2015-09-25T19:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=14481"},"modified":"2019-08-04T21:41:29","modified_gmt":"2019-08-04T19:41:29","slug":"siete-anos-sin-mario-maya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/bordonazo\/siete-anos-sin-mario-maya\/","title":{"rendered":"Siete a\u00f1os sin Mario Maya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"ES\">Este domingo, 27 de septiembre de 2015, se van a cumplir siete a\u00f1os de la muerte del gran bailaor y core\u00f3grafo <strong>Mario Maya<\/strong>, posiblemente el mejor bailaor flamenco de todos los tiempos, sobre todo el m\u00e1s completo, aunque, como no pod\u00eda ser menos, respeto otras opiniones. Contar aqu\u00ed toda su larga trayectoria como artista ser\u00eda empresa imposible, porque fueron muchas d\u00e9cadas de profesional y lleg\u00f3 a hacer tantas cosas en el baile, en el flamenco en general, que lo que precisar\u00eda ser\u00eda un buen libro. En eso and\u00e1bamos cuando una r\u00e1pida enfermedad se lo llev\u00f3, manteniendo largas conversaciones con \u00e9l sobre su vida art\u00edstica y personal, recopilando material de su propio archivo y de otros archivos para escribir entre los dos ese libro, sus memorias, las de un bailaor gitano nacido en C\u00f3rdoba, aunque granadino de crianza y coraz\u00f3n, que super\u00f3 todas las adversidades para llegar a convertirse en el n\u00famero uno del baile flamenco y mandar en el g\u00e9nero durante d\u00e9cadas, con compa\u00f1\u00eda propia y estable, y sacando a muchas de las figuras del baile de hoy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"ES\">Pero si como bailaor y core\u00f3grafo no tuvo parang\u00f3n, en lo personal era un hombre interesante, culto, comprometido y de una sensibilidad extraordinaria. Era tambi\u00e9n un artista muy cr\u00edtico, exigente con \u00e9l y con los dem\u00e1s, que huy\u00f3 siempre de la chabacaner\u00eda. De izquierdas, pero muy cr\u00edtico con el poder, lo ostentara quien lo ostentara, como demostr\u00f3 a lo largo de su trayectoria, sobre todo cuando fue elegido por la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda para crear lo que ahora es conocido como el <strong>Ballet Flamenco de Andaluc\u00eda<\/strong>. Seg\u00fan me coment\u00f3 \u00e9l mismo, aquella no fue una buena experiencia porque conoci\u00f3 el trasfondo de la pol\u00edtica cultural en Andaluc\u00eda y sali\u00f3 rebotado, aunque no sin decir en un peri\u00f3dico de tirada nacional, <i>El Mundo<\/i>, que \u201clos pol\u00edticos andaluces eran los nuevos se\u00f1oritos\u201d. M\u00e1s o menos lo mismo que <strong>Francisco Moreno Galv\u00e1n<\/strong> dijo en una conocida letra popularizada por <strong>Jos\u00e9 Menese<\/strong>: que eran los mismos perros, con los mismitos, mismitos collares. La experiencia no fue buena, pero el resultado de su trabajo est\u00e1 ah\u00ed, con artistas del baile como <strong>Rafaela Carrasco<\/strong> e <strong>Israel Galv\u00e1n<\/strong>, sin olvidarnos de su propia hija, <strong>Bel\u00e9n Maya<\/strong>, que fueron lo mejor de aquella experiencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00abConfieso que ha sido el bailaor al que m\u00e1s he admirado en estos cuarenta a\u00f1os que llevo ya metido de lleno en el mundo del flamenco\u00bb<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"ES\">Mario era igualmente un gitano con gracia, quiz\u00e1s no siempre bien entendido porque era una gracia fina e inteligente, lejos de la vulgaridad reinante, de esos flamencos que se levantan todos los d\u00edas a ver a qui\u00e9n hacer re\u00edr en la taberna del barrio o en alguna entrevista de radio o televisi\u00f3n. Mario Maya odiaba a esos <i>flamenquitos<\/i>, como \u00e9l los llamaba, apostando siempre por el verdadero talento y, sobre todo, por los j\u00f3venes que estaban dispuestos a comprometerse con el baile, a amarlo por encima de todo y a saber encajar la disciplina. Por todo lo expuesto, confieso que ha sido el bailaor al que m\u00e1s he admirado en estos cuarenta a\u00f1os que llevo ya metido de lleno en el mundo del flamenco, y eso que los he conocido y tratado a todos, desde <strong>Farruco<\/strong> a <strong>Manolete<\/strong>, pasando por <strong>Rafael el Negro, El G\u00fcito<\/strong> o <strong>Antonio Gades<\/strong>, que estuvo en otra dimensi\u00f3n. Sin olvidarme de artistas actuales como <strong>Joaqu\u00edn Cort\u00e9s, Antonio Canales, Javier Bar\u00f3n<\/strong> o <strong>Farruquito<\/strong>. Nadie super\u00f3 a Mario en sus buenos tiempos, y desde que se fue tampoco nadie ha podido ocupar el hueco que dej\u00f3. Hay artistas tan grandes que son inigualables hasta despu\u00e9s de muertos, si es que de verdad mueren del todo genios como don Mario Maya Fajardo, el gitano que so\u00f1\u00f3 siempre con un mundo flamenco culto, comprometido, libre y mirando al futuro sin perder de vista el pasado.
