{"id":13744,"date":"2019-07-08T12:50:30","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T10:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=13744"},"modified":"2019-07-08T12:52:06","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T10:52:06","slug":"manuel-torres-y-zapico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/bordonazo\/manuel-torres-y-zapico\/","title":{"rendered":"Manuel Torres y Zapico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Antonio Ram\u00edrez Sol<\/strong>, un sevillano del Barrio de La Feria conocido por <strong><em>Zapico<\/em><\/strong>, era un fan\u00e1tico de <strong>Manuel Torres<\/strong>, quien vivi\u00f3 a\u00f1os en el n\u00famero 4 de la calle Amapola, una callecita estrecha cerca de la plaza de Los Carros y de Divina Pastora, antigua calle Alcal\u00e1, donde naci\u00f3 el bailaor <strong>Lamparilla<\/strong> y muri\u00f3, en 1954, el gran Rafael Ramos Ant\u00fanez, <strong><em>El Ni\u00f1o Gloria<\/em><\/strong>. Tambi\u00e9n vivieron en esta popular calle del citado barrio el bailaor <strong>Pepe R\u00edos<\/strong> y su esposa, una de las ni\u00f1as que dej\u00f3 Torres al morir, en 1933.<\/p>\n<p>Este tal Zapico muri\u00f3 con m\u00e1s de cien a\u00f1os y cuando lo conoc\u00ed ten\u00eda a\u00fan una memoria de elefante. Era asiduo a visitar El Jueves, el mercadillo sevillano de la calle Feria, y una ma\u00f1ana le compr\u00e9 tres discos de pizarra del genial cantaor jerezano. Esa misma ma\u00f1ana me dijo que ten\u00eda en casa una fotograf\u00eda de Manuel con <strong>Chac\u00f3n<\/strong> y <strong>Javier Molina<\/strong>. Me puse malo, porque Chac\u00f3n y Manuel son dos de mis \u00eddolos, dos genios sin los cuales el cante no ser\u00eda como es en la actualidad.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00abZapico sab\u00eda todo de Manuel Torres y me cont\u00f3 diez o doce an\u00e9cdotas. Una de ellas, la noche en la que Chac\u00f3n y \u00e9l casi llegaron a las manos\u00bb<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fuimos a su casa, creo recordar que en la calle Palomas, donde muri\u00f3 <strong>Ram\u00f3n el Ollero<\/strong> y vivi\u00f3 <strong>Frijones<\/strong>, y aquello era una leonera, con montones de peri\u00f3dicos viejos que llegaban al techo, discos de pizarra por todas partes, tres o cuatro perros y dos gatos, una bicicleta del siglo XIX y una gran fotograf\u00eda de Manuel en el sal\u00f3n, la original en la que aparece sentado en la puerta de su casa de la calle Amapola. Buscamos la que estaba con Chac\u00f3n y Molina, pero no apareci\u00f3. Fui d\u00edas m\u00e1s tarde para seguir buscando y el hombre hab\u00eda fallecido. Los vecinos me dijeron que sus dos \u00fanicos hijos viv\u00edan uno en Barcelona y otro en Buenos Aires, y que solo uno de ellos, el de Barcelona, hab\u00eda venido a hacerse cargo del buen hombre y de las cosas que hab\u00eda dejado en la accesoria.<\/p>\n<p>No fui capaz de hablar con el hijo y dos o tres meses despu\u00e9s me acerqu\u00e9 de nuevo a la casa y ya viv\u00edan en ella otras personas. Total, que aquella fotograf\u00eda de los tres genios andar\u00e1 por alguna parte o acabar\u00eda en la basura, algo que ha pasado muchas veces porque no todo el mundo le da valor a esas cosas. Recuerdo que Zapico sab\u00eda todo de Manuel Torres y que me cont\u00f3 diez o doce an\u00e9cdotas muy buenas. Una de ellas, la noche en la que Chac\u00f3n y \u00e9l casi llegaron a las manos, en la Alameda de H\u00e9rcules, por una discusi\u00f3n de cante sobre una figura de moda, el <strong>Ni\u00f1o de Marchena<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Chac\u00f3n apreciaba a Marchena, al que le puso el apodo de <em>La Vieja<\/em>, por lo que sab\u00eda.\u00a0Pero le recrimin\u00f3 varias veces el hecho de que \u201cdeforme los cantes\u201d. Torres era admirador del marchenero y, aunque era gitano y ten\u00eda otra escuela, en cuanto alguien lo criticaba se le echaba encima. Y eso es lo que pas\u00f3 aquella noche en la Alameda entre don Antonio y Manuel, que se enfrascaron en una discusi\u00f3n sobre Marchena y temblaron hasta las piedras del Barrio de La Feria.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfAparecer\u00e1 alg\u00fan d\u00eda la fotograf\u00eda de Chac\u00f3n, Torres y Molina?
