Mucho arte y comp\u00e1s, \u00e1ngel por arrobas y buenos artistas, pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 se hace por la historia del arte de lo jondo en la tierra que es, quiz\u00e1s, su principal cuna? C\u00e1diz es la ciudad m\u00e1s antigua de Occidente, con m\u00e1s de tres mil a\u00f1os de historia. En el siglo XV ya se imprim\u00edan villancicos que se cantaban en la Catedral de C\u00e1diz con motivo de la Nochebuena, y los primeros cantaores que registra la historia de este arte eran de esa ciudad. En 1790 naci\u00f3 en ella <strong>Antonio Monge Rivero <em>El Planeta<\/em><\/strong>, la primera gran figura del g\u00e9nero, bautizado en la Parroquia de San Lorenzo, y doce a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde (1802), su sobrino <strong>L\u00e1zaro Quintana Monge<\/strong>, hijo de su hermana Dolores, uno de los primeros en cantar en los teatros de C\u00e1diz y de la Villa y Corte. Pero muchos siglos antes, <strong>Plinio el Viejo<\/strong>, el escritor, militar y naturalista romano, se refer\u00eda ya a \u201cgargantas dolidas susurrando canciones y guitarras murientes\u201d, por no hablar de <strong>Marcial<\/strong> <strong>y Juvenal<\/strong>, quienes describieron los bailes y cantos gaditanos en \u00e9poca romana, que no eran estilos romanos sino andaluces, gaditanos por m\u00e1s se\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p>De San Fernando eran <strong>Antonio Ortega <\/strong><em><strong>El Fillo<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>y <strong>Ram\u00f3n Sartorio<\/strong>, dos hist\u00f3ricos del cante, y de Puerto Real, <strong>Frasco el Colorao<\/strong>, un cantaor clave en la exportaci\u00f3n del cante por seguiriyas a Triana, donde muri\u00f3 con m\u00e1s de ochenta a\u00f1os y dej\u00f3 su escuela. Si entramos en Jerez no acabar\u00edamos, y no digamos en El Puerto de Santa Mar\u00eda, la patria chica de<strong> Juan el Cag\u00f3n<\/strong>, de <strong>Jos\u00e9 Perea<\/strong> y de <strong>Tom\u00e1s el Nitri<\/strong>, sin olvidarnos de las <strong>Coquineras<\/strong>, las tres hermanas que revolucionaron el baile en la Sevilla del XIX, dos de ellas muertas en Madrid y la otra en Sevilla hace m\u00e1s de un siglo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo no se cuida m\u00e1s en C\u00e1diz este inmenso legado cultural? Es admirable la labor investigadora de <strong>Javier Osuna<\/strong> y <strong>Antonio Barber\u00e1n<\/strong>, o la de <strong>Faustino N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong>, a quienes C\u00e1diz debe m\u00e1s apoyo y atenci\u00f3n, pero se puede hacer mucho m\u00e1s y eso depende de las instituciones p\u00fablicas, que son cicateras a m\u00e1s no poder con nuestro arte, hoy reconocido y admirado en todo el mundo. Antonio Barber\u00e1n no para de llamar a puertas buscando apoyos, aunque tendr\u00eda que ser al rev\u00e9s. Tendr\u00edan que llamar las instituciones a la puerta de la C\u00e1tedra de C\u00e1diz y preguntar qu\u00e9 pueden hacer por el flamenco y por C\u00e1diz. Por ejemplo, aportar medios econ\u00f3micos, porque sin estos medios es imposible abordar un trabajo tan necesario como ser\u00eda la creaci\u00f3n de un gran centro de documentaci\u00f3n sobre el flamenco en esa provincia, que es clave, dir\u00eda que vital en la formaci\u00f3n del arte jondo. Tampoco se hace nada en Sevilla, otra de las cunas principales, ciudad en la que llevamos d\u00e9cadas pidiendo casi de rodillas que se ocupen de su legado flamenco, de la historia de este arte, de sus creadores. <strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis Ortiz Nuevo<\/strong> ha tenido que pedir ayuda en las redes sociales para poder publicar <em>La Valiente<\/em>, una biograf\u00eda sobre <strong>La Cuenca<\/strong>, la bailaora m\u00e1s universal de M\u00e1laga, obra que ser\u00e1 presentada en breve en esa ciudad. Por cierto, la ciudad en la que El Planeta pas\u00f3 los \u00faltimos veinte a\u00f1os de su vida, desde donde viajaba por toda Andaluc\u00eda llevando por bandera el cante de C\u00e1diz. En M\u00e1laga residieron tambi\u00e9n L\u00e1zaro Quintana, Tom\u00e1s el Nitri, <strong>Silverio Franconetti<\/strong> \u2013casado all\u00ed en 1868\u2013, el Fillo hijo y <strong>Mar\u00eda la Andonda<\/strong>, de lo que en esta ciudad no ten\u00edan ni idea hasta hace un par de a\u00f1os. Ahora ya lo saben y como si nada, porque est\u00e1n en otros asuntos.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfCreen ustedes que puede haber una regi\u00f3n en el mundo m\u00e1s displicente que Andaluc\u00eda? No creo que exista, aunque en todos los pa\u00edses cuecen habas, eso es innegable.
