{"id":12078,"date":"2019-05-02T21:01:17","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T19:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=12078"},"modified":"2019-06-16T11:56:56","modified_gmt":"2019-06-16T09:56:56","slug":"que-es-y-que-no-es-el-flamenco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/bordonazo\/que-es-y-que-no-es-el-flamenco\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQu\u00e9 es y qu\u00e9 no es el flamenco?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Podemos decir sin temor a equivocarnos que el flamenco es un arte andaluz con casi dos siglos de historia y a\u00fan no sabemos muy bien qu\u00e9 es y qu\u00e9 no es flamenco. <strong>El Planeta<\/strong> era m\u00e1s un tenor andaluz que un cantaor de flamenco. Un conocido promotor de \u00f3pera, director del <strong>Teatro de Salzburgo<\/strong> (Austria), vino a contratarlo a mediados del siglo XIX, a \u00e9l y a <strong>Mar\u00eda Borrico<\/strong>, la cantaora de San Fernando, como tenor y tiple del canto andaluz, seg\u00fan refleja la prensa de Madrid de esa \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n<p>El Planeta era ya un hombre mayor, de 60 a\u00f1os, y seguramente declin\u00f3 la invitaci\u00f3n. Y no hay constancia de que la cantaora ca\u00f1a\u00edlla fuera a aquel pa\u00eds, a pesar de que era mucho m\u00e1s joven, solo 20 a\u00f1os. Pero lo cierto es que el promotor austriaco vino para llevar a cantantes andaluces a aquella ciudad, la cuna de Mozart, cuando el arte andaluz no se llamaba flamenco. Cuando la prensa de Madrid de mediados del siglo XIX anunciaba que un cantante flamenco hab\u00eda llegado a la capital de Espa\u00f1a no dijo que era un cantaor de flamenco, sino \u201cun cantante flamenco\u201d. O sea, un cantante gitano. \u00bfC\u00f3mo cantar\u00eda <strong>L\u00e1zaro<\/strong>, el sobrino de El Planeta, que ni siquiera era gitano o que ten\u00eda solo un cuarter\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>Puestos a buscar los or\u00edgenes de este arte nos podemos ir todo lo atr\u00e1s en el tiempo que queramos, pero tampoco hay que pasarse. Por otra parte, solo sabemos c\u00f3mo era el cante andaluz, por ejemplo, por los primeros cilindros de cera y vemos que no eran cantaores o cantaoras con voces muy flamencas, al menos tal y como hoy entendemos la voz flamenca, con carga melism\u00e1tica, quejidos, giros mel\u00f3dicos inveros\u00edmiles y un sonido determinado que con el tiempo se calific\u00f3 de jondo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo cantar\u00eda, pues, El Planeta? Nos llevar\u00edamos una desagradable sorpresa, sin ninguna duda, porque era un cantador de canciones andaluzas.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00bfEs lo mismo cantar una sole\u00e1, sea con la voz que sea, que una canci\u00f3n? No es lo mismo. Cuando una cantaora que hace palos flamencos se pasa a las canciones y la criticamos, siempre hay problemas con los cr\u00edticos. Una cantaora puede cantarlo todo, si canta flamenco, arte para el que se necesitan unas grandes facultades y no solo la de la fuerza. <strong>Mayte Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, por poner un ejemplo, puede cantar todo lo que quiera y todo lo har\u00e1 maravillosamente por el conjunto de cualidades que tiene. Pero si canta boleros o canciones mel\u00f3dicas, eso no es flamenco y no deber\u00eda tener tratamiento como tal por parte de la cr\u00edtica especializada y los aficionados. Y lo tiene, lamentablemente.<\/p>\n<p>Tampoco es garant\u00eda de flamenco que una cantante interprete soleares, tangos o buler\u00edas, por mucho teatro que haga o mucha ojana que d\u00e9. Un buen ejemplo ser\u00eda <strong>Rosal\u00eda<\/strong>, que a m\u00ed no me parece que haga flamenco. Que dentro de unos a\u00f1os, lo que hace ahora ser\u00e1 catalogado como flamenco, puede ser. Hoy llamamos cantaoras a tiples y cantantes folkl\u00f3ricas del XIX y cante jondo a canciones aflamencadas. Y no creo que sea tan complicado llamar a cada cosa por su nombre. Si un guitarrista cl\u00e1sico interpreta una pieza de <strong>T\u00e1rrega<\/strong> o <strong>Turina<\/strong>, eso no es flamenco. Si toca la ronde\u00f1a de <strong>Montoya<\/strong>, s\u00ed, porque es una pieza creada por un guitarrista de flamenco, y adem\u00e1s de los grandes. Ram\u00f3n Montoya cre\u00f3 su ronde\u00f1a, no este palo. Y era flamenca cuando la cre\u00f3, sin necesitar el paso de los a\u00f1os para ser catalogada como tal.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos quieren justificar la calidad flamenca de Rosal\u00eda argumentando que con ella pasa igual que ocurri\u00f3 con la <strong>Ni\u00f1a de los Peines<\/strong> y <strong>Camar\u00f3n<\/strong>, lo que es una tremenda barbaridad. Comparan con dos genios del cante a una muchacha que triunfa porque ha sabido hacer algo singular a partir de elementos flamencos y de otros g\u00e9neros musicales.<\/p>\n<p>La he escuchado por seguiriyas y buler\u00edas, entre otros palos, y solo hace remedos sin ninguna esencia. Que esto ser\u00e1 flamenco dentro de medio siglo, no lo discuto, pero ahora no lo es. Que es su personal interpretaci\u00f3n del flamenco, vale. Pero a m\u00ed no me interesa nada porque no me emociona, no me conmueve, no me alegra las pajarillas del alma y no me duele. Por tanto, tengo que actuar en consecuencia y no admitir eso como flamenco.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bfQue es su personal interpretaci\u00f3n del flamenco?
