The exhibition Francisco Moreno Galv\u00e1n: Affiches de la Reuni\u00f3n de Cante Jondo<\/strong><\/em> is part of the programming of del Bruselas Flamenco Festival<\/a>, and it will be open to the public between \u00a0March 6th<\/sup> and March 10th<\/sup> at the BOZAR (Centre for Fine Arts) in Brussels.<\/p>\n

A selection of works from the collection of the Museo de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Moreno Galv\u00e1n<\/a>, essentially the posters for the Reuni\u00f3n de Cante Jondo de La Puebla de Cazalla<\/em>, by the painter and poet Francisco Moreno Galv\u00e1n<\/strong> (La Puebla de Cazalla, Seville province, 1925 \u2013 1999), are now in Brussels on occasion of a great exhibition organized by the\u00a0BOZAR Center<\/a> and the Culture Council of the City of La Puebla de Cazalla<\/a>, as part of the 2019 Bruselas Flamenco Festival.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is curated by Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez Gago<\/strong> and Miguel \u00c1ngel Rivero<\/strong>, and is opened to the public until Sunday, March 10th<\/sup> in the Terarken Room of the Bozar Cultural Center in Brussles.<\/p>\n

The program of the Bruselas Flamenco Festival this year focuses on five topics: protest songs (\u2018La Protesta\u2019), Belgian flamenco artists (\u2018Los Nuestros\u2019), women (\u2018D\u00eda Internacional de la Mujer\u2019), flamenco dynasties (\u2018Dinast\u00edas Flamencas\u2019) and children (\u2018D\u00eda Familiar\u2019). The first day of the festival focuses on social activism in flamenco, with a tribute to three poets: Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, Rafael Alberti <\/strong>and Francisco Moreno Galv\u00e1n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In parallel with the tribute to Francisco Moreno Galv\u00e1n, the show La Protesta <\/em>will be performed by Ana Ram\u00edrez La Yiya, Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez, Juan Pinilla<\/strong> (cante), Manuel Herrera<\/strong> (guitar) and David P\u00e9rez<\/strong> (baile), giving voice to poems and flamenco lyrics with a heavy social and ideological content facing Franco\u2019s dictatorship.<\/p>\n

During the first day of this festival, La Puebla is also represented by Miguel \u00c1ngel Rivero<\/strong>, who takes part together with Juan Pinilla, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Arranz <\/strong>and Bart Vont<\/strong> in the round table The importance of the antifascist poets in flamenco and Spanish culture<\/em>.<\/p>\n
