As a novelty, this flamenco opera now joins permanently the list of theatrical productions in Seville.<\/p>\n<p>This show combining theater and flamenco can be enjoyed since the beginning of February in the <strong>T\u00e1vora Teatro Abierto <\/strong>venue, located in the Cerro del \u00c1guila district of Seville. This is a unique and intimate stage with a capacity of just 240 seats, which creates a very special rapport between artists and spectators.<\/p>\n<p>The producer of this show is <strong>Pilar T\u00e1vora<\/strong>, and this initiative also has the participation of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ishbiliaeventos\/\">Ishbilia Eventos<\/a>, a company which specializes in promoting artistic shows, particularly related to flamenco. This is a project with a clear touristic focus. At 8:30 PM, tour guides pick up the spectators to tell them the story of <em>Carmen La Cigarrera<\/em>\u00a0as they visit the <strong>Tobacco Factory<\/strong>, and at 9:30 PM they go to the theater to enjoy the show.<\/p>\n<p><em>Carmen\u00a0<\/em>was premiered in 1996, and it has had great success with world tours through around thirty different countries, having been performed about one thousand times. It was awarded the <strong><em>Premio MAX<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0de las Artes Esc\u00e9nicas<\/em> and has been enjoyed by over two million people<\/p>\n<p>This is the particular vision of Seville\u2019s playwright Salvador T\u00e1vora, who was also a <em>cantaor flamenco <\/em>and a bullfighter, and died on February 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019, aged 88.
