After all these years, we could say that he is one of the most relevant artists in flamenco\u2019s contemporary landscape. He has accompanied artists of the stature of Enrique Morente, Duquende, Miguel Poveda, Mayte Mart\u00edn, Rancapino, La Susi, Chano Lobato, Carles Benavent and many others. He has just released his third solo album, <strong><em>U\u00f1a y carne\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(literally meaning \u201cnail and flesh\u201d, a Spanish expression used to convey the idea of two things that are inseparable), a compilation of eight <em>buler\u00edas, tangos, guajiras, rumbas, sevillanas, tanguillos <\/em>and<em>ronde\u00f1as<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>U\u00f1a y carne <\/em>is a substitute of <strong><em>Diapasi\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong>, Chicuelo\u2019s second album as soloist, released eleven years ago. For this new project, the artist from Catalunya has worn the composer\u2019s hat to create the majority of the tracks in this album. Besides, he has had the collaboration of renowned musicians from the flamenco and jazz scenes, such as the trumpetist <strong>Carlos Sarduy<\/strong>, the bassist <strong>Carles Benavent\u00a0<\/strong>and the violoncellist <strong>Mar\u00edn Mel\u00e9nde<\/strong>z. The album has been produced by Accords Crois\u00e9s and edited by Discmedi and Taller de Musics.<\/p>\n<p>This is a solo project awaited with great expectation by the fans of Chicuelo, who had already collaborated with other artists in several albums such as <strong><em>Conexi\u00f3n\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(2017), with the pianist <strong>Marco Mezquida, <\/strong>and <strong><em>Sinton\u00edas\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(2016), with the singer <strong>Marinah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What can we find in <em>U\u00f1a y carne<\/em>? Traditional flamenco with fusion touches from contemporary genres such as blues, jazz and Brazilian music. \u201cThe pieces are impregnated with all the love I\u2019ve felt all these years\u201d, the artist from the ACN agency explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI present renewed dreams. Our energy at 50 is not the same as when we were 20, but everything is seen from a different perspective, with more calm and wisdom, knowing what we want\u201d, concluded the guitarist.
