The festival will take place at Jerez\u2019s\u00a0<i>Plaza de Toros<\/i>\u00a0(bullfighting ring) on July 7, and it will honor Pansequito.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor was joined by Francisco Camas (the mayor\u2019s deputy for Urbanism, Cultural Invigoration, Heritage and Security), Pansequito (the honored artist), Jos\u00e9 Luis Lara (promoter of Emell Eventos S.L.) and Juan Garrido (the festival\u2019s communications director).<\/p>\n<p>Mamen S\u00e1nchez congratulated the promoters for their courage in contributing to the staging of one more flamenco festival in the city. \u201cThe first edition of this festival was a success, and when something succeeds it must continue. We at city hall believe in flamenco and in the Jerez brand, and also in those brave people who contribute to the creation of new festivals with first-class lineups\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the basis for the flamenco industry: having promoters and artists willing to bet on Jerez\u2019s flamenco and its promotion, locally and externally. From here, we wish a great success to the promoters of this 2nd \u2018Gran Reserva\u2019 festival, which features very good artists, not just from Jerez\u201d, stated the mayor.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Francisco Camas, the mayor\u2019s deputy, praised Pansequito and reminded us that \u201cthe goal of Government is to achieve an universality of flamenco, without loosing the uniqueness of each town\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Cort\u00e9s Jim\u00e9nez &#8216;Pansequito&#8217; was thankful for being honored and recalled his close association with Jerez since he was a child. \u201cJerez is a reference for flamenco and all it has given have been very good. I feel fortunate of having friendship with great artists of Jerez\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The promoter Jos\u00e9 Luis Lara thanked City Hall for all its support and involvement in the festival. \u201cA festival which in its first edition was the second flamenco festival with the most public in all Spain is what makes us to continue betting for the flamenco of Jerez\u201d. Regarding the honors for of Pansequito, he stated that \u201che\u2019s a master who unites all generations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Juan Garrido was in charge of explaining the lineup of the 2nd \u201cJerez Gran Reserva\u201d Festival, which will feature &#8216;Pansequito&#8217;, Aurora Vargas, Rancapino Chico, Pedro el Grana\u00edno, Mar\u00eda Terremoto, Luis Moneo, Perico y Jos\u00e9 Pa\u00f1ero, Jos\u00e9 Mijita and Lela Soto in\u00a0<i>cante<\/i>\u00a0and Manuel Valencia, Miguel Salado, Domingo Rubichi, Juan M. Moneo and Nono Jero in\u00a0<i>toque<\/i>. The festival will also feature the show &#8216;El\u00a0<i>baile<\/i>\u00a0en la memoria&#8217;, featuring Manuela Carpio, Gema Moneo, T\u00eda Yoya, T\u00eda Curra, Diego de la Margara, Enrique Pantoja, Fernando Jim\u00e9nez y Miguel A. Heredia in\u00a0<i>baile<\/i>, and Remedios Reyes, El Quini, Juan Lara, El Purili, Luis de Mateo and Juanillorro in\u00a0<i>cante<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The gala will be hosted by Juan Garrido and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Casta\u00f1o, and the price for advance tickets is 18 euros in the stalls and 29 euros in the dress circle with numbered seats.
