You\u2019re so hard to find these days!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Well, I have been enjoying flamenco in the coast of C\u00e1diz. You didn\u2019t see me in Conil, but I was there and enjoyed that festival very much.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Rancapino-Chico-y-Paco-Cepero\/c112t\/55f77d1d0cf2db6dcfb5da89\">Rancapino\u2019s kid<\/a>\u00a0is such a good singer! I also liked a lot Caracolillo\u2019s singing\u00a0<i>por alegr\u00edas<\/i>, with art and great\u00a0<i>comp\u00e1s<\/i>. And\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2016\/08\/29\/Pedro-el-Grana%C3%Adno\">Pedro el Grana\u00edno<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Jes%C3%BAs-M%C3%A9ndez\/c112t\/55f77c2d0cf2db6dcfb5d9c8\">Jes\u00fas M\u00e9ndez<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/single-post\/2017\/08\/06\/Mar%C3%ADa-Terremoto-y-Miguel-Poveda\">Mar\u00eda Terremoto<\/a>\u2026 These, and others who are also doing their part, are the ones who will restore the glory of flamenco summer festivals.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Yet, it seems like we\u2019re starting to forget the veterans, aren\u2019t we?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Yes, I don\u2019t like that, although some of the old masters have been performing the same things for forty years and the aficionados get tired of it.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!Un-dolor-llamado-Morente\/c112t\/5665034b0cf203d325ed5a96\">Morente<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.expoflamenco.net\/#!El-abuelo-y-Juan-Pe%C3%B1a-El-Lebrijano\/c112t\/578855aa0cf28653c964403e\">Lebrijano<\/a>, to give you two clear examples, kept renewing themselves and evolved as time went by, but others are still singing the songs from their first album. So, if some veterans have ended up a bit forgotten, it\u2019s not the fault of the festival organizers, but their own fault.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Won\u2019t you say names\u2026?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-It\u2019s not necessary, because the readers are smarter than you and me.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Did you attend the\u00a0<i>Reuni\u00f3n de Cante Jondo<\/i>\u00a0festival in Puebla?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-I didn\u2019t, because I can\u2019t be everywhere at the same time. Besides, the lineup wasn\u2019t suitable for a festival like this. They really don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing. I haven\u2019t attended that festival in a long time, and I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll be a while before I do so again. It\u2019s a shame what\u2019s happening in Puebla.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Is there such thing as\u00a0<i>flamenco playero<\/i>\u00a0(\u201cbeach flamenco\u201d), grandpa?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-There\u2019s the\u00a0<i>playera<\/i>, a now-lost\u00a0<i>palo<\/i>. There\u2019s no such thing as beach flamenco, stop trying to be funny.<\/p>\n<p><b>-I think there is. In the beach towns there are flamenco shows and festivals targeting tourists, that\u2019s what I mean by \u201cbeach flamenco\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Flamenco is always flamenco, no matter where is performed.\u00a0<i>Tablaos<\/i>\u00a0target tourists and many of them offer first-class flamenco. Perhaps not as much as decades ago, but I\u2019ve seen very good flamenco shows in\u00a0<i>tablaos<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Where do you like to hang out in summer, grandpa?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-In C\u00e1diz. I go to La Caleta with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/blog-archivo\/rancapino-o-una-una-declaracion-de-amor\">Rancapino<\/a>\u00a0and I have a good time at\u00a0<i>Pe\u00f1a Juan Villar<\/i>\u00a0or\u00a0<i>Pe\u00f1a El Manteca<\/i>. I chat with Rebujina and El Piti and I feel great. That\u2019s life, the best life in the world. There\u2019s not other place as\u00a0<i>flamenco<\/i>\u00a0as this. Walking by Barrio de la Vi\u00f1a, I forget everything else.<\/p>\n<p><b>-Will you go to\u00a0<i>La Caracol\u00e1<\/i>\u00a0festival?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<i>La Caracol\u00e1<\/i>\u00a0can come to me instead.<\/p>\n<p><b>-What happened?
