The dazzling Centro Cer\u00e1mica Triana<\/a> [Triana Ceramic Centre], headquarters of the Seville Biennial, held the introductory presentation of N\u00eemes Flamenco Festival 2022<\/a> on Friday the 26th<\/sup> November. The event was attended by the festival\u2019s Director, Fran\u00e7ois No\u00ebl, its Artistic Advisor, Chema Blanco \u2013 newly made Director of the Seville Biennial \u2013 and a considerable group of artists, who can be seen in the image above, who will be present at the festival itself. The festival will be held in the southern French city from the 13th<\/sup>-22nd<\/sup> of January 2022.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7ois No\u00ebl<\/strong>, Director of the N\u00eemes Festival, commented that the event will look both to the future and tradition \u2013 Blanco added that \u201cthe future doesn\u2019t exist without tradition\u201d \u2013 and emphasised the difficult time a year ago. \u201cAfter the 2021 edition\u2019s unfortunate cancellation due to the health context, it is a joy to be able to vibrate to the frenzied rhythms of the Flamenco Festival again. As soon as those first guitar notes resound once again and warm our hearts in the wintertime, we\u2019ll be proud and happy to have fought for flamenco to come alive again in the city again.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As Chema Blanco<\/strong>, flamenco advisor at N\u00eemes, advised in detail, the upcoming festival will bring together ten shows, six of which are new to the city. He described it as \u201ca very special edition, with very carefully selected artists\u201d. The event reinforces its distinctive, unique and authentic hallmark, mixing genres and eras. Between singing from In\u00e9s Bac\u00e1n, Pedro el Grana\u00edno <\/strong>and Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez,<\/strong> and dancing from Mar\u00eda Moreno, Roc\u00edo Molina, Florencia O\u2019Z <\/strong>and the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet<\/strong>, there will be exciting musical moments such as Carta Blanca<\/em> by the talented guitarist Dani de Mor\u00f3n<\/strong>, as well as Mar\u00eda Mar\u00edn<\/strong> from Utrera. The budding young artist Yinka Esi Graves<\/strong> will be in residence, as will dancer Ana Morales<\/strong> to unveil a new creative phase from her next show. Also appearing on the programme is the electric and eclectic duo RomeroMart\u00edn<\/strong>. Colita<\/strong> will be exhibited at the Carr\u00e9 d\u2019Art museum, and the Semaphore cinema will screen the film Nueve Sevillas<\/em> by Gonzalo Garc\u00eda-Pelayo<\/strong> and Pedro G. Romero<\/strong>. Furthermore Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Vel\u00e1zquez-Gaztelu<\/strong>, a loyal friend of the Festival, who was recently appointed member of the Academy of Fine Arts of C\u00e1diz, will offer privileged meetings with the artists.<\/p>\n

Thirty years of experience have made N\u00eemes more than just a place for artists to pass through, but rather a real showcase that gives visibility to the most daring trends in flamenco. A deeper knowledge of the art form, as well as its commitment to the artists, has made it a key player on the international flamenco scene. Over the years, it has managed to forge a fundamental, even emotional, relationship between the teams, public and artists.<\/p>\n
