Around the year 2014,\u00a0Mitch<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Jafelin Helten<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 owners of ExpoFlamenco \u2014 travelled from Canada to Seville to present their project to our dear Manuel Boh\u00f3rquez<\/strong>. The dream of creating an authoritative flamenco website, from Spain to the world, was born. More than five years later, this project is not only alive and well, but has more strength and energy than ever.<\/p>\n

Thus, in the autumn of 2019, the ExpoFlamenco brand made another step towards its goal of connecting flamenco communities around the world and promoting this art form with the opening of a\u00a0brick and mortar store<\/a>\u00a0in iconic Jerez de la Frontera. It is a unique place, where experts, artists and aficionados converge among all kinds of flamenco articles and also participate in events such as a\u00a0round table<\/a>\u00a0discussing the Festival de Jerez.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Covid-19 arrived and all activity in the store was affected by the pandemic. It was a brief pause, though, and it soon reopened with a renewed spirit. It is a magical place where people can wander among CDs and all kinds of flamenco articles such as books, T-shirts, shawls, shoes, prints and even sculptures.<\/p>\n

Flamenco music, the star of ExpoFlamenco\u2019s Jerez Shop<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Here we can find Quimeras del tiempo<\/em>, Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez<\/strong>\u00a0trilogy with\u00a0Ilus3<\/em>, which has a special place as it was recently nominated for Best Flamenco Album in the 2020 Latin Grammy<\/a> awards. There is also Directo en el C\u00edrculo Flamenco de Madrid<\/em>\u00a0featuring\u00a0De la Tomasa<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0La Macanita<\/strong>,\u00a0La\u00a0voz vivida <\/em>by Antonia Contreras<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Flamenco y universidad. Vol LXII<\/em>, featuring Diego Agujetas<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Pepe del Morao<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Yet, it\u2019s not just CDs. There are many other interesting articles such as the most recent book by bailaora <\/em>Mar\u00eda Moreno<\/strong>,\u00a0Yo bailo<\/em>, an intimate look into flamenco\u2019s creative process, with spectacular photographs by Susana Gir\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
