{"id":21547,"date":"2020-09-10T21:05:04","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T19:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/?p=21547"},"modified":"2020-09-10T21:07:46","modified_gmt":"2020-09-10T19:07:46","slug":"festival-cante-jondo-de-mairena-watched-in-three-different-continents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/en\/news\/festival-cante-jondo-de-mairena-watched-in-three-different-continents\/","title":{"rendered":"Festival \u201cCante Jondo de Mairena\u201d watched in three different continents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spain, Mexico, Canada, France, Argentina, USA, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Belgium, Peru, Germany and Japan are the geographic areas reached by the <a href=\"http:\/\/festivalmairena.com\/\">59th Festival \u201c<em>Cante Jondo Antonio Mairena<\/em>\u201d<\/a>, an edition that has \u201csurpassed all initial expectations\u201d, in the words of the Municipal Delegate for Flamenco, <strong>Gloria Guill\u00e9n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth pointing out the fact that 22% of spectators were overseas, while the remaining 78% were in Spain. Guill\u00e9n recalled that City Council always planned to go ahead with its historic festival of <em>cante<\/em>. \u201cWe never considered a suspension. So we opted for an online streaming format, without public, as this was the best and safest way to put on this edition of the festival. It has been a complete success\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the audience, the evening of Saturday, September 5<sup>th<\/sup>, 37502 people connected via YouTube (28118), Facebook (8109) and the festival\u2019s website (1275). 2947 users watched the whole festival from beginning to end, 2674 via YouTube, 186 via Facebook and 87 via the website. To these numbers we must add those of <em>Doce TV Mairena<\/em> and <em>Radio Mairena<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Delegate thanked the \u201cexcellent job of all artists who set foot on the stage: <em>cantaores<\/em>, <em>bailaores<\/em> and guitarists. They elevated Mairena high up in the stage of world flamenco. I feel extremely thankful to every and each of them and I hope that in the 60<sup>th<\/sup> edition the public will be able to join the artists\u201d.
