Both Merc\u00e9 and Poveda are founding members of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/unionflamenca.org\/\">Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/a><\/em> and took the opportunity to inform the Monarchs about the recent creation of the Association of Professional Flamenco Artists. In this regard, these <em>cantaores<\/em> stated the main goals of <em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em>: to be a voice for all flamenco professional artists and to work towards the creation of a legal framework to regulate the financial and labor aspects of this genre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9 Cepero<\/strong>, general director of <em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em>, considered this occasion \u201ca historical moment\u201d, because \u201cat last, with the attentive ears of Their Majesties\u201d, professional flamenco artists now have \u201ca voice to represent them at the Zarzuela Palace\u201d. For that reason, the representative of <em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em> wished to thank the \u201cattention and interest shown by Their Majesties during this meeting\u201d towards the proposals conveyed by the organization\u2019s founding members. \u201cWe wish with all our hearts for this to be the first step in the work of <em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em> with other institutions, because many people who are currently experiencing serious hardships have high hopes in this project\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00abFlamenco is a complex reality that has been intensely researched in its artistic, cultural and anthropological facets, but not in its economic aspect\u00bb (Jos\u00e9 Cepero, Uni\u00f3n Flamenca)\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>Permanent Flamenco Working Table <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em> has already expressed the need to create a Permanent Flamenco Working Table, a mixed working body staffed by both public administrators and legitimate representatives of the industry to outline flamenco\u2019s current situation and design appropriate measures.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, <em>Uni\u00f3n Flamenca<\/em> proposed a series of legal amendments in both the financial and labor aspects, because it considers that \u00abflamenco can only be protected if the people who make it happen are protected, and to achieve this goal, there is a need to create a legal framework to regulate the industry\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlamenco is a complex reality that has been intensely researched in its artistic, cultural and anthropological facets, but not in its economic aspect\u201d, explained Cepero.
