The Federaci\u00f3n Local de Pe\u00f1as Flamencas de Jerez<\/a>\u00a0has awarded the prize \u2018Best cante<\/em> of accompaniment\u2019 to Alfredo Tejada, for his performance in the show Lenguaje oculto<\/em>\u00a0of the compa\u00f1\u00eda de La Lupi<\/em>. Likewise, it has decided to award the prize \u2018Revelation\u2019 of the series \u2018De Pe\u00f1a en Pe\u00f1a<\/em>\u2019 to Fernando Jim\u00e9nez, bailaor<\/em> from Jerez, for his recital of baile<\/em> at Pe\u00f1a La Buler\u00eda, which we captured in this ExpoFlamenco<\/em><\/strong> piece<\/a>.<\/p>\n

First, let\u2019s talk about Alfredo Tejada<\/strong>\u2019s prize \u2018Best cante<\/em> of accompaniment\u2019. This cantaor <\/em>from M\u00e1laga was instrumental in the show Lenguaje Oculto <\/em>performed on March 3rd<\/sup> at the Villamarta Theater by bailaora<\/em> La Lupi, also from M\u00e1laga. Tejada\u2019s self-controlled, powerful voice added passion to this production, always showcasing his skill as cantaor de atr\u00e1s<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the series De pe\u00f1a en pe\u00f1a<\/em>\u00a0has shown a clear evolution among its participants thanks to the work of the pe\u00f1as<\/em> in promoting flamenco artists, and this edition had truly magical moments. That\u2019s why the Federation has the highest appreciation for the Festival de Jerez commitment to include in its program the pe\u00f1as flamencas<\/em> of Jerez, which hosted recitals much loved by visitors and locals alike. In this edition, the artist who stood out above all others was bailaor<\/em>\u00a0Fernando Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>. It was a difficult decision, considering the high level of all participants. Fernando performed at Pe\u00f1a La Buler\u00eda <\/strong>on Saturday, February 22nd<\/sup>, accompanied by the cante<\/em> of Enrique Remache, Manuel Moneo Carrasco<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Juan de la Mar\u00eda <\/strong>and by the guitar of Fernando del Morao<\/strong>. This bailaor<\/em> showed his ease connecting with the public through his authentic baile flamenco<\/em>, revealing his maturity and ability to reach the audience.<\/p>\n

Two years ago, Fernando Jim\u00e9nez was noted by the very high level of his performance in the series De Pe\u00f1a en Pe\u00f1a<\/em> at the Centro Cultural Flamenco Don Antonio Chac\u00f3n<\/strong>. That performance got the attention of the Festival de Jerez organizers, who in 2019 proposed a performance at Sala Compa\u00f1\u00eda, sharing the stage with the winner of that same prize in the previous year, Yessica Brea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
