The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art<\/a>\u00a0has hosted the presentation of the activities planned by the C\u00e1diz Provincial Federation of Pe\u00f1as Flamencas<\/a>, on occasion of the International Flamenco Day<\/strong>, November 16th<\/sup>. In previous articles, we had mentioned the activities organized by Jerez\u2019s City Council for this date and, as if that was not enough, we must now add the celebrations proposed by the pe\u00f1as<\/em> of C\u00e1diz for this special day.<\/p>\n

In fact, we must point out that, starting on November 11th<\/sup>, some of the pe\u00f1as<\/em> will host fun theatrical productions aimed at schoolchildren, with the goal of introducing flamenco to the new generations. We must also emphasize that other entities have preferred to host recitals of cante<\/em> and toque<\/em> in their venues, giving momentum to a week that is becoming the center stage of flamenco this Autumn season.<\/p>\n

The most relevant event on November 16th<\/sup> will take place at 1 PM, just after the reception for all those willing to attend, having already paid a donation of ten euros. After this early gathering, the aficionados \u2014 whether they\u2019re members of pe\u00f1as<\/em> or not \u2014 will proceed to the huge Exhibition Hall at the Gardens of the Royal School where they\u2019ll be able to enjoy the show C\u00f3mo bailan los caballos andaluces <\/strong><\/em>(How Andalusian Horses Dance<\/em><\/strong>) with Jes\u00fas M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>\u2018s cante<\/em> and Pepe del Morao<\/strong>\u2018s toque<\/em>. \u00abThis is a new experience in my career which I\u2019m really looking forward to\u00bb, admitted Jes\u00fas himself, also adding that \u00a0\u00abwe want to achieve the most natural and spontaneous communication between flamenco and horse, based on what Manuel Morao did years ago with the support of Rafael Soto (Olympic horseman from Jerez)\u00bb.<\/p>\n

After this event, which will have an approximate duration of 75 minutes, the Federation will confer a sculpture to Pe\u00f1a Flamenca Los Cern\u00edcalos<\/em> <\/strong>in recognition of its great work in behalf of flamenco on occasion of the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of its foundation, being the first pe\u00f1a<\/em> in the province of C\u00e1diz. This act is planned to take place at 2:15 PM, followed a celebration with stew tasting and bar and kitchen service at the Museo del Enganche<\/em> (Horse Carriage Museum) with all the pe\u00f1as<\/em> of the Federation.<\/p>\n
