Arenal Square, Jerez de la Frontera, province of C\u00e1diz. Less than one hundred feet away is number 2 Corredera Street, in the historic and commercial center of one of the cradles of flamenco. It\u2019s the perfect location for the first ExpoFlamenco store in the world. Everything is ready for EXPOFLAMENCO JEREZ<\/strong>\u00a0public opening on November 4th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony took place on October 31st<\/sup>. Artist, media, authorities and representatives of pe\u00f1as flamencas<\/em> and business associations came together with a great interest in seeing up close the initiative ExpoFlamenco has undertaken in their city, a small contribution to allow the wider public to better know flamenco. Books, records, old posters of flamenco festivals, sculptures and unique items are on display. A place for both passionate aficionados and casual tourists alike, this store will also have an online presence soon.<\/p>\n

\u00abJafelin\u00a0and\u00a0Mitch Helten, owners of ExpoFlamenco, publicly thanked all who contributed to make this great project a reality\u00bb<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nela Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, president of Jerez\u2019s Open Mall Business Association<\/em> (Asociaci\u00f3n de Comerciantes del Centro Comercial Abierto<\/em>\u00a0JEREZ-ACOJE<\/strong>) welcomed ExpoFlamenco in the name of all business in the city center and apologized for the absence of Jerez mayor, Mamen S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, as she was attending the municipal plenary session, although she committed to visit the premises soon. Jafelin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mitch Helten<\/strong>, owners of ExpoFlamenco, publicly thanked all who contributed to make this great project a reality.<\/p>\n

\u00abOpening this store means a lot to me, from a personal perspective. As the dreamer who I am, I\u2019ve been wishing to belong to Jerez\u2019s flamenco world for a long time. With this wish now a reality, I feel that that the people of this world I that love so much accept me as one of their own, and that makes me feel very emotional\u00bb stated Jafelin, a full-blooded flamenca <\/em>born in Venezuela and now living in Vancouver.<\/p>\n

The store features an area meant for spontaneous performance of cante flamenco<\/em>. The great cantaora Mar\u00eda Vargas<\/strong>, born in Sanl\u00facar but now settled in Jerez, delighted the attendees singing local buler\u00edas<\/em>. Salmonete de Jerez<\/strong>,\u00a0Mercedes del Puerto<\/strong>, the aficionada\u00a0Pepa de Abucha<\/strong>, from Jerez de la Frontera, guitarist\u00a0Miguel Ramos<\/strong>, from Puerto Real, and\u00a0Santos Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, cantaor from Almer\u00eda now living in jerezano, also performed selflessly, joined by the palmas<\/em> of Pepe Esquivel<\/strong>, president of Pe\u00f1a Flamenca Mazaco<\/em> in Coria del R\u00edo, (Seville province).<\/p>\n
