It\u2019s true that some of the activities have already taken place in the current month, \u00abbut due to technical issues, the press conference was delayed\u00bb. To the numerous recitals organized by the <em>pe\u00f1as flamencas<\/em> of this city \u2014 many of them already reported in this website \u2014 and the several performances hosted every day by <em>tabancos<\/em>, we have to add several dates of special interest, such as November 9<sup>th<\/sup>, when a great show honoring <strong>Don Antonio Chac\u00f3n<\/strong> will take place, celebrating the 150<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of his birth.<\/p>\n<p>This concert will be the epilogue of the <strong>5<sup>th<\/sup> Sessions of Study of Cante<\/strong> (<strong><em>V Jornadas de Estudio del Cante<\/em><\/strong>) organized by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uca.es\/\">University of C\u00e1diz<\/a>\u00a0and the City Council itself, which will be held on November 8<sup>th<\/sup> and November 9<sup>th<\/sup> and are dedicated to that illustrious <em>cantaor<\/em> from Jerez\u2019s San Miguel district. These sessions will take place at the city\u2019s <em>Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico<\/em> and will be moderated by our colleague <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Casta\u00f1o<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The concert itself will feature <strong>Antonio Malena, Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Lela Soto<\/strong>, and will have the collaboration of <em>bailaora<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Mar\u00eda del Mar Moreno<\/strong> and the guitars of Paco Le\u00f3n and Antonio Malena (Jr.). Palmas will be performed by Dani and Javi Pe\u00f1a, Ali de la Tota and Diego Malena. This act will be presented by\u00a0<strong>Ferm\u00edn Lobat\u00f3n<\/strong>. It\u2019s important to highlight the participation of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DAChaconFlamencoJerez\/\">Centro Cultural Flamenco Don Antonio Chac\u00f3n<\/a><\/em> in this event, which fully committed all its efforts to commemorate the important anniversary of its namesake. In the press conference. Antonio Malena stated that \u00abwe\u2019ll focus on the repertoire of this master, honoring his legacy, although I can say this won\u2019t be easy\u00bb. The concert will take place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jerez.es\/webs_municipales\/turismo_cultura_y_fiestas\/equipamientos_culturales\/conjuntos_monumentales\/los_claustros_de_santo_domingo\/\">Claustros de Santo Domingo<\/a> venue at 9:30 PM. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p>On November 13th, the 2nd \u2018<strong><em>Ciudad, Patrimonio Flamenco de Jerez<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 will take place. This is a series of conferences and round tables moderated by <strong>Juan Salido Freyre<\/strong>\u00a0where different points of view about the current state of flamenco in the city will be discussed. This event will take place at the <em>Palacio de Villapan\u00e9s<\/em> at 6 PM. Two days later, on Friday, November 15<sup>th<\/sup>, the <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Prize of Flamenco Research \u2018City of Jerez\u2019<\/strong> will be awarded at the Williams &amp; Humbert Cellars, at 8 PM. On Saturday, November 16<sup>th<\/sup>, <strong>International Day of Flamenco<\/strong>, the Reading of the Flamenco Manifesto will be done by <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Vel\u00e1zquez Gaztelu <\/strong>at the <em>Alc\u00e1zar de Jerez<\/em> at 11:30 AM. Afterwards, <strong>Antonio Ben\u00edtez Manosalbas<\/strong>, founder of <em>Pe\u00f1a Los Cern\u00edcalos<\/em> (50 years ago), will be awarded the 1<sup>st<\/sup> <em>Premio a la Afici\u00f3n<\/em>\u00a0for his extensive work in behalf of flamenco. At noon, Jerez will enjoy moments of popular participation with different flashmobs performed at the squares in the city center, organized by the academies of <strong>Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Franco, Macarena de Jerez <\/strong><strong>and<\/strong><strong> Mari\u00e1n Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>December will feature the traditional <em>zambombas <\/em>which are in increasing demand year after year by people from all over Spain.
