According to the press release published by the Festival, the jury awarded its biggest prize of 16,000 euros \u00abfor his great command and knowledge of the <em>cantes mineros<\/em> and for his proven competence in other styles of flamenco\u00bb. This <em>cantaor<\/em> from Barcelona also won the <em>Mineras <\/em>first prize of 5,000 euros, and the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Group of <em>Cantes Bajo Andaluces<\/em>, worth the same amount, for his performance of <strong><em>Seguiriyas<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong> <em>Tientos<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El Mati has a proven record in <em>cante de atr\u00e1s<\/em> (singing for <em>baile<\/em>), as attested by his experience in the companies of Pastora Galv\u00e1n, Manolo Mar\u00edn, Israel Galv\u00e1n, Rafael Campallo, Cristina Hoyos and Antonio Canales. Likewise, he has accompanied artists of the stature of Jorge Pardo, El Pele, Pepe Habichuela and Esperanza Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n<p>The<em> cantaor<\/em> Francisco Escudero M\u00e1rquez\u00a0<strong>El Perrete<\/strong>, from Badajoz, has been the winner of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Group of <em>Cantes Mineros<\/em> for his performance of the\u00a0<strong><em>Taranta<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0<strong><em>Levantica<\/em><\/strong>, and of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Group, corresponding to the <em>cantes<\/em> of M\u00e1laga, Granada, C\u00f3rdoba and Huelva, for the <strong><em>Malague\u00f1a<\/em><\/strong> and the <strong><em>Fandangos<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Olga Aznar Garc\u00eda, better known as <strong>Olga Llorente<\/strong>, has been awarded the <strong><em>Desplante Femenino<\/em><\/strong>, for her baile of\u00a0<strong><em>Caracoles<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><em>Tarantos<\/em><\/strong>. Olga is a renowned <em>bailaora<\/em>, dancer and choreographer. Born in Barcelona, she has shared the stage with Pastora Galv\u00e1n, El Farru, Bel\u00e9n Maya, Diego Carrasco, Juan Ogalla, El Junco and El Barullo. The <strong><em>Desplante Masculino<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>prize was not awarded.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Bord\u00f3n Minero<\/strong> prize of 6,000 euros was awarded to the guitarist <strong>Jos\u00e9 Ferm\u00edn Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, from Granada, for his <em>toque por\u00a0<strong>Tarantos\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>and<em>\u00a0<strong>Buler\u00edas<\/strong><\/em>.
