This series is no longer held on weekends, when the city has plenty of entertainment events available, and changed its name to <strong><em>Mi\u00e9rcoles Flamencos<\/em> <\/strong>(Flamenco Wednesdays), which this year is taking place between July 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and August 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>After acclaimed performances by artists such as <strong>Mar\u00eda Mezcle<\/strong> and <strong>Ezequiel Ben\u00edtez<\/strong>, we still have time to enjoy two top-notch stars. On Wednesday, July 31<sup>st<\/sup>, the young <em>cantaor<\/em> <strong>Samuel Serrano\u00a0<\/strong>will bring to Sanl\u00facar his recital <em>Chipiona Flamenca<\/em>, joined by the guitar of <strong>Juan G\u00f3mez<\/strong>. This recital will take place at the <em>pe\u00f1a<\/em> headquarters on number 2 Zorra Street.<\/p>\n<p>On August 7<sup>th<\/sup>, the series\u2019 grand finale will give a nod to nearby Jerez de la Frontera. The <em>cantaor<\/em> <strong>Jes\u00fas M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, relative of the unforgettable <strong>Paquera de Jerez<\/strong>, will bring the feel of La Plazuela district to Sanl\u00facar. He\u2019ll be joined by another great artist, guitarist <strong>Manuel Valencia<\/strong>, also from Jerez. This show is titled <em>Jerez al comp\u00e1s<\/em>\u00a0y and will take place at the <em>Jardines del Palacio de Orleans-Borb\u00f3n<\/em>, on Cuesta de Bel\u00e9n street.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Mi\u00e9rcoles Flamencos<\/em> are part of the <strong><em>Festival Internacional de M\u00fasica Primera Vuelta al Mundo<\/em> <\/strong>(International Music Festival First Circumnavigation), one of the 193 commemorative events celebration the 500 anniversary of the world\u2019s first circumnavigation, started on August 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 1519, when five ships led by Ferdinand Magellan departed from Seville. This circumnavigation would be completed three years later by Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Elcano.
