This is one of the most important events for the promotion of flamenco in the international scene and the biggest flamenco festival organized outside Spain by number of productions and shows. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/sara-baras\/\"><strong>Ballet Flamenco de Sara Baras<\/strong><\/a><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>the great ambassadress of flamenco,\u00a0 is back at the <strong>Sadler\u2019s Wells Theatre <\/strong>for UK\u2019s premiere of the show <em>Sombras <\/em>between July 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 7<sup>th<\/sup>. This iconic venue once again hosts the <em>bailaora<\/em> from San Fernando with a production that celebrates 20 years on stage, which has enjoyed great acclaim in theaters all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Together with Sara Baras, other great names in flamenco dance will perform in London in the next few days. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/rocio-molina\/\"><strong>Roc\u00edo Molina<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will present her\u00a0<em>Ca\u00edda del cielo<\/em>\u00a0on July 9th.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/olga-pericet\/\"><strong>Olga Pericet<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<em>La espina que quiso ser flor y la flor que quiso ser bailaora<\/em>\u00a0on July 11<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/patricia-guerrero\/\"><strong>Patricia Guerrero<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>performs <em>Catedral<\/em>\u00a0on July 14<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/jesus-carmona-2\/\"><strong>Jes\u00fas Carmona<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will do the premi\u00e8re of his residence in London on July 13<sup>th<\/sup>. And on Sadler\u2019s Wells stage, on July 12<sup>th<\/sup> and 13<sup>th<\/sup>, directed by <a href=\"http:\/\/manuellinan.com\/\"><strong>Manuel Li\u00f1an<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/festivales\/espanol-ff-london-2019\/producciones\/gala-flamenca\/\"><strong>Gala Flamenca<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0produced in 2019 by Flamenco Festival will take place. This is a dialog among artists such as the <em>bailaores<\/em> Eduardo Guerrero,\u00a0<strong>Mercedes Ruiz and Mar\u00eda Moreno<\/strong>, and the sounds of the <em>cantaora<\/em> \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/english-maria-terremoto\/\"><strong>Mar\u00eda Terremoto<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the guitarist <strong>Santiago Lara<\/strong>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/nanako-aramaki\/\"><strong>Nanako Aramaki<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>completes the round of dance with her <em>Obliqueffect <\/em>on July 10<sup>th<\/sup> at the Rich Mix.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding music,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/festivales\/espanol-ff-london-2019\/producciones\/universo-pastora-copy\/\"><strong>Miguel Poveda<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will be back at Sadler\u2019s Wells on July 8<sup>th<\/sup> to give one of his unforgettable flamenco recitals. The pianist from Lebrija <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/dorantes\/\"><strong>Dorantes<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will present the show <em>Flamenco meets jazz<\/em>\u00a0on July 10<sup>th<\/sup> together with the saxophonist <strong>Tim Ries, <\/strong>the multi-instrumentalist<strong>\u00a0Adam Ben Ezra<\/strong>\u00a0and the bailaor\u00a0<strong>Jes\u00fas Carmona<\/strong>\u00a0as invited guest.<\/p>\n<p>The acclaimed Iraqi-American musician <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/amir-elsaffar-ensemble\/\"><strong>Amir ElSaffar<\/strong><\/a>, together with other flamenco artists such as <em>cantaora<\/em> <strong>Gema Caballero<\/strong>, <em>bailaora<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Vanesa Aibar<\/strong>\u00a0and the percussionist <strong>Pablo Mart\u00edn Jones<\/strong>, will present the recital <em>Luminiscencia<\/em>\u00a0on July 6<sup>th<\/sup> at the Lilian Baylis Studio. The musicians <strong>Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Dena ElSaffar<\/strong> will also perform. On July 12<sup>th<\/sup> at the same venue the young <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/flamenco-ene-kiki-morente\/\"><strong>Kiki Morente<\/strong><\/a>, joined by <em>bailaora<\/em> <strong>Irene Rueda<\/strong> will present his first CD <em>Albayz\u00edn <\/em>for the first time in the UK, an album with new propositions honoring the patriarch Enrique Morente. Then, on July 13<sup>th<\/sup>, flamenco flautist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/sergio-de-lope\/\"><strong>Sergio de Lope<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will present to the public of London his new album <em>Ser de Luz<\/em>. On July 12<sup>th<\/sup>, the guitarist\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/david-carmona\/\"><strong>David Carmona<\/strong><\/a>, an outstanding disciple of maestro Manolo Sanl\u00facar, will present one of the best flamenco productions of the last few years, within the series <em>Flamenco E\u00f1e<\/em> with the collaboration of Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE. This series is completed by the performances of de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/diego-villegas\/\"><strong>Diego Villegas<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0who will present his first album, <em>Bajo de Gu\u00eda<\/em>, on July 6<sup>th<\/sup> at London\u2019s Cervantes Theater, and \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flamencofestival.org\/artistas\/antonio-lizana\/\"><strong>Antonio Lizana<\/strong><\/a>, who will present the show <em>Oriente <\/em>on July 11<sup>th<\/sup>, in the same venue, offering a live show that is more than a concert through his two previously released albums.<\/p>\n<h2>133 Spanish artists in 26 shows<\/h2>\n<p>This edition is the most important in the history of this festival in London, having a significant increase in its programming. It has 53 per cent more shows, compared with the 2018 edition, going from 17 to 26 shows. A total of 133 Spanish artists from 18 companies will perform before an estimated public of 24,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>This year the program dedicates a special space for upcoming artists, with eleven shows featuring productions performed for the first time in the United Kingdom, representing 61 per cent of the total. In an edition dedicated to creativity, Flamenco Festival once again banks on the process beyond the results, widening the program of artists\u2019 residences started seven years ago. It\u2019s a space for meeting and experimenting among flamenco artists and international artist from other genres.<\/p>\n<p>With a million and six hundred spectators all over the world, and more than seven hundred performances, Flamenco Festival is nowadays the most important international platform for flamenco. With its main headquarters in New York and London, and after 19 years of activity, Flamenco Festival is present in 101 cities around the world and has presented 129 companies and 1,225 shows.
