In Mexico, flamenco feels like home. There are many aficionados to comp\u00e1s<\/em> and to this noble art here. This why this genre \u2014 as often happens \u2014 is once again the absolute protagonist in the Festival Ib\u00e9rica Contempor\u00e1nea 2019<\/a>. The 7th<\/sup> edition of this event will take place between July 6th<\/sup> and July 20th<\/sup>, 2019 in Quer\u00e9taro<\/strong>. It\u2019s official poster is a mural designed by Andrey S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This festival, held every two years, will feature over thirty renowned artists such as Crist\u00f3bal Reyes, Eduardo Guerrero, Mar\u00eda Moreno, Ana Morales, El Carpeta, Jos\u00e9 Gal\u00e1n, Nazaret Reyes, Valeriano Pa\u00f1os, La Truco and Karen Lugo, among others<\/p>\n

Bailaores<\/em> and bailaoras<\/em> will make their humble contribution to take flamenco art to that country in North America. The dance companies Ib\u00e9rica de Danza<\/a>\u00a0and Conservatorio Mariemma de Madrid<\/a>\u00a0\u2018s Larreal will also be on stage. Classical dancers such as Raquel Ruiz o Eduardo Alves will also perform.<\/p>\n

The venues of the Festival Ib\u00e9rica Contempor\u00e1nea<\/em> 2019 will be Quer\u00e9taro Teatro Metropolitano<\/em>, Museo Regional<\/em>, Hacienda Viborillas<\/em>, Museo de Arte<\/em> and Jard\u00edn Guerrero<\/em>. There will also be international meetings of academies and dance companies, courses and workshops, as well as tributes to three great dancers. Gastronomy and fashion design will also be featured in this festival.<\/p>\n

Festival Ib\u00e9rica Contempor\u00e1nea 2019<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

This festival takes place every two years thanks to the collaboration of both public and private institutions \u2014 Mexican and international \u2014 by the initiative of Fundaci\u00f3n Proart A.C.<\/a>\u00a0\u00abA non-profit institution committed to mankind, working in behalf of training and professionalization of dance and art in general, building a cultural project for society\u2019s development\u00bb, as explained in their website.<\/p>\n

The goal is to engage people and commit them to art through multiple options for appreciation and learning, always having Spanish dance in general and flamenco in particular as the starting point.<\/p>\n
