This morning we spoke to Diego Cano, president of the Tertulia since 2005, and Alfonso L\u00f3pez, Spokesman and Secretary of the 50th<\/sup>anniversary commission who shared impressions and information about plans and activities:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Diego, Alfonso, congratulations from Expoflamenco to the board of directors and all the members of the association for this half-century of commitment and hard work.\u00a0 The years 1970 to 2020 cover dramatic evolution of flamenco.\u00a0 What events or tendencies has the Tertulia Cultural Flamenca El Gallo been witness to over the years?<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019ve witnessed the birth of the Gazpacho Andaluz Festival which in time would come to depend largely on this Tertulia that came into being in 1970. \u00a0We\u2019ve written unforgettable pages in the history of flamenco, awarded gold insignias, participated in fairs, staged recitals and contests with some of the biggest stars of singing, dance and guitar, but above all else, we were able to count on the collaboration of the famous guitarist and fine person, Diego del Gastor, who has long represented the flamenco of Mor\u00f3n.<\/p>\n Are flamenco pe\u00f1as or associations still relevant, or are they destined to disappear?<\/strong><\/p>\n Thanks to the tenacity of the members, the pe\u00f1as manage to keep afloat, albeit with difficulties, but with imagination and dedication we keep moving forward.<\/p>\n Does the pe\u00f1a receive institutional support of any kind? \u00a0Is there enough financing for flamenco associations?<\/strong><\/p>\n Economic support, very little\u2026a bit from the local government, but we presented a project aimed at schools, and it\u2019s always paralyzed for lack of funding, despite the UNESCO designation of flamenco as a World Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n Some valuable material has been collected and preserved by the pe\u00f1a. \u00a0Explain that project.<\/strong><\/p>\n Our collection is very rich, and the proof can be seen in the release of the CD with previously unpublished live recordings, with lots more to develop other projects, in addition to photographs, posters, books, etc.<\/p>\n Diego, you\u2019re the father of flamenco singer Moi de Mor\u00f3n.\u00a0 What role do young people represent in the pe\u00f1a?\u00a0 Is their participation cultivated?<\/strong><\/p>\n Young people are of utmost importance, and our pe\u00f1a does everything to help and encourage them, which is why we have the yearly Contest for Young Talents, not to mention the recitals we organize with them.<\/p>\n In addition to the benefit festival and the CD you mentioned, what else is planned regarding the anniversary?<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to the festival and the CD, there\u2019s a series of flamenco in the neighborhoods, in the schools, a culture month at the theater, expositions, lectures, etc., a full program considering the possibilities.<\/p>\n At this year\u2019s Gazpacho festival will there be anything related to the pe\u00f1a\u2019s 50th anniversary? \u00a0What\u2019s the date it\u2019s to be held?<\/strong><\/p>\n This year the Gazpacho is programmed for July 6th<\/sup>.\u00a0 There won\u2019t be\u00a0 much regarding the 50th<\/sup>anniversary because next year\u2019s edition will he devoted to it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mor\u00f3n de la Frontera.\u00a0 One of the points that […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":12497,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[68],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-12499","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-estela-flamenca"],"yoast_head":"\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.expoflamenco.com\/archivo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/expoflamenco-festival-50-aniversario-tertulia-el-gallo.jpg\")
