Not two or three, but eight. Eight is how many years have taken the guitarist from Valencia <strong>Juan de Pilar<\/strong>\u00a0to release his second solo album. It\u2019s titled <em>Tierra de nadie\u00a0<\/em>(<em>No man\u2019s Land<\/em>) and it was made as he liked, on low heat, surrounded by his usual musicians \u2013David Cano \u2018El Chicho\u2019, Juan Jos\u00e9 Amador, Dani de Francisco\u2013 and a few more surprises. It will be presented on May 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2019 at Valencia\u2019s <strong>Teatre Tal\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe second album is the confirmation of an artist. I notice my maturity in the fact that I don\u2019t play as fast as I used to: when we\u2019re young, we\u2019re in a rush. There\u2019s no need for it. If the master<em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>Paco de Luc\u00eda<\/strong> was able to give up that musician\u2019s vanity, it was for a reason. \u00a0The important thing is to convey feeling\u201d, explains this artist in an interview published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/\"><em>El Mundo<\/em><\/a> newspaper.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tierra de nadie\u00a0<\/em>has ten tracks and includes some twenty voices from a youth choir <em>por alegr\u00edas<\/em>. Besides, Juan Pilar has surrounded himself with several musicians, from the usual <strong>\u00d3scar de Manuel<\/strong>\u00a0(flute),\u00a0<strong>Sergio Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>David Gadea<\/strong>\u00a0(percussion) to other flamenco names such as <strong>Rafael de Utrera<\/strong>\u00a0or Mar\u00eda del Mar, daughter of Currichi.<\/p>\n<p>Almost two years ago, when he was in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), this guitarist from Valencia was playing <em>para baile<\/em> in a flamenco venue for tourists. It was there where, slowly but surely, he started to come up with each track of this album until he managed to extract from himself exactly how much he wanted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe get into a room and think: \u2018I\u2019ll compose something\u2019. Then we stop and wonder if we really have anything to say, and two years may go by until we\u2019re finally convinced that we do\u201d, states this guitarist.<\/p>\n<p>Juan\u2019s career spans more than twenty years, and he\u2019s been playing the guitar since he was fifteen years old, three or four days per week. Today he\u2019s in Paris, tomorrow he\u2019s in Rome, the day after no one knows. Now he pauses to present this second album and it\u2019s time to enjoy his <em>Tierra de nadie<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn flamenco, guitar is what evolves the most. More than <em>cante<\/em> or <em>baile<\/em>. If we\u2019re not careful, we become obsolete.
