I had some of them already, but not most. I stopped reviewing albums because for many years there have been problems with opinions being accepted, perhaps because there are so many geniuses nowadays. So many, in fact, that there doesn\u2019t seem to be enough room for all of them. And God forbids anyone saying they\u2019re not really geniuses, because that would mean being blasted in the social networks by the artists\u2019 agents, partners, siblings or cousins. Considering such desolated landscape, perhaps it\u2019s a good idea to review the good albums only, leaving the bad ones just as furniture decoration.<\/p>\n<p>I listened carefully to the first album of <strong>Mar\u00eda Terremoto<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>La huella de mi sent\u00edo<\/em>, as she\u2019s a young <em>cantaora <\/em>with a very <em>flamenca<\/em> voice and serious chance of becoming a big star of cante. I didn\u2019t like this album at all, and I hope that she does things better in the future, when she\u2019ll have more years of experience. On the other hand, I liked the album of <strong>La Fabi<\/strong>, a wonderful cantaora we seldom take in account, certainly because we\u2019re too busy with <strong>Rosal\u00eda<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez<\/strong>, who seem to be just about everywhere, I don\u2019t really know why. Why isn\u2019t La Fabi mentioned more often, being such an interesting cantaora? Because commercial music sells better, and that has always happened, from the earliest days of <em>cante flamenco<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Another good album is that of <em>cantaor<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Alfredo Tejada<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Sentidos del alma<\/em>. Yet, people seem more interested in writing about other <em>cantaores<\/em> that are more entertaining, even if they\u2019re not as good as Alfredo. <strong>Alicia Gil<\/strong>, <em>cantaora<\/em> from Seville, is fascinated with her latest album, <em>Corral de los Jud\u00edos<\/em>, where she shows off her beautiful voice. Regarding guitar CDs, <strong>Ni\u00f1o de Pura<\/strong>\u00a0is back with an album, <em>Pura Gloria<\/em>, that is somewhat uneven, but offers very interesting things. It was released last year, fifteen years after his last album. His technique is impressive, and his strenght is still incredible, although he\u2019s still determined to showing off, something that\u2019s part of his style. He\u2019s brilliant, without a doubt, and there is one buler\u00eda, the fourth track, which I really love because of its sensibility and originality.<\/p>\n<p>I was enthralled listening to <strong>Riki Rivera<\/strong>\u2018s <em>Estaci\u00f3n Khandwa<\/em>, a very talented album. This artists from C\u00e1diz has an incredible talent and shines in various areas of flamenco. I\u2019ve also found quite interesting Pedro Sierra\u2019s new album, <em>Llanto de la guitarra<\/em>. Although he\u2019s from Barcelona, he\u2019s been living in Seville for many years and he\u2019s one of the most important guitarists in our days. He has not been acknowledged as a leading guitarist yet, but it\u2019s about time, because he\u2019s been proving his unquestionable quality for many years<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I just got <em>Deja que te lleve, <\/em>the latest CD by Javier Patino, a guitarist not very well known as a concertist. His album is a succession of musical images that captures the listener, with collaborations by artists such as Fernando el de la Morena, cantaor from Jerez. It\u2019s an interesting proposition altogether.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll spend the weekend catching up with these CDs and I\u2019ll pick two or three albums to review next week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">Translated by P. I had some of them, but not most. I stopped reviewing albums because for many years there have been problems with opinions being accepted, perhaps because there are so many geniuses nowadays. So many, in fact, that there doesn\u2019t seem to be enough room for all of them. And God forbids anyone saying they\u2019re not really geniuses, because that would mean being blasted in the social networks by the artists\u2019 agents, partners, siblings or cousins.
