That\u2019s because the quality of the program is keeping alive the spirit of the greatest guitarist of all times. \u201cGod is coming\u201d, was the headline of a Japanese magazine when the <em>son of La Portuguesa<\/em> travelled for the first time to that country in Asia. Since the <em>Maestro<\/em> passed away in February, 2014, the city where he was born has thrown itself into becoming a mecca for all fans of its most universal citizen. There, at the <strong><em>Cementerio del Rinconcillo<\/em><\/strong>, his mortal remains rest, in a nearby and peaceful place where a mausoleum in his honor has been built, visited every year by thousands of people who want to feel Paco\u2019s magic aura.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not all, there\u2019s more. \u201cWe\u2019ll never be able to pay back Paco de Luc\u00eda for all he has given to Algeciras\u201d, said the councilor of the City of Algeciras during the act of presentation of the program. That\u2019s why the project of creating this city\u2019s <em><strong>Centro de Interpretaci\u00f3n Paco de Luc\u00eda<\/strong><\/em> is so far advanced, financed by the European Union\u2019s ITI Funds. Then there is also the project of maintaining and growing this\u00a0<em>Encuentro<\/em> which every year takes over its streets and squares to promote the union between the people and the universe, adding content to the <strong><em>Ruta Paco de Luc\u00eda<\/em> <\/strong>which has as focal point the statue of this artist at the entrance of <em>Puerto Mar\u00edtimo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>After its previous five editions, which have featured artists of the stature of John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Miguel Poveda, Ni\u00f1a Pastori, Manuel Moneo, Tomatito, La Macanita, Antonio Reyes, Vicente Soto, Estrella Morente, Pastora Soler, Diego Carrasco, Antonio Rey, Paco Montalvo, Diego del Morao and Parrita, this event is back in full strength with a slight change in it\u2019s usual date: now it will take place a week later so it won\u2019t clash with the <em>Feria de La L\u00ednea<\/em>. That was stated by the mayor, who presides the organization of this event, whose artistic direction and <em>alma mater<\/em> \u2014 I\u2019m the one saying this \u2014 is <strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis Lara<\/strong>, of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/emelleventos.es\/\">Emell Eventos<\/a>, a great fried and even confidant of Paco. For future editions, Jos\u00e9 Luis is not ruling out having other artists from other genres besides flamenco and jazz who are familiar with Paco, because the essence of that musician was universal.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Lineup of the 6th <em>Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra Paco de Luc\u00eda<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>From July 24t to July 28th, 2019, the <em>Parque Mar\u00eda Cristina<\/em> will once again host galas of very high quality, as well as conferences, a masterclass and courses. The event will be opened by <strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Le\u00f3n\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Alicia Carrasco<\/strong>, both from Algeciras, with their show <em>Los bienes de la tierra<\/em>. The following evening <strong>Raimundo Amador<\/strong>\u00a0and the trio formed by <strong>Antonio Serrano, Antonio S\u00e1nchez\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Jos\u00e9 del Tomate <\/strong>will cause a stir. Friday is the turn of <strong>Sara Baras<\/strong>, the global <em>bailaora<\/em>, who will bring <em>Sombras<\/em>, a production which was greatly acclaimed in the USA. On Saturday evening, <em>cante flamenco<\/em> will take with performances by\u00a0<strong>Pansequito, Aurora Vargas, Perico \u2018El Pa\u00f1ero\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Mar\u00eda Terremoto<\/strong>, four unquestionable leading stars of today\u2019s <em>cante<\/em>. This edition of the event will be closed on Sunday 28<sup>th<\/sup> by <strong>Marina Heredia\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Dorantes<\/strong>, who will take to the prestigious stage of the <em>Parque<\/em> their shared show <em>Esencias<\/em>.
