For five years now Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Toulon have been the home of El Festival Flamenco Azul. Shows, conferences and masterclasses are constant fixtures during the festival with Florencia Oz, Jesús Carmona, Kuky Santiago y Karime Amay leading the way this year.
The South of France is in love with flamenco with the art form continuing to be one of the main artistic attractions to the area. This is thanks, in part, to festivals like the El Festival Flamenco Azul that celebrates its fifteenth year of festivities from the 29 March to the 23rd of April 2023. Celebrating the month with shows, conferences, documentary screenings and masterclasses, from acts such as Florencia Oz, Jesús Carmona, Kuky Santiago y Karime Amaya.
The festival is organised by the Centro Solea, under the direction of María Pérez in collaboration with the Art and Music council in Provence and the Andalusian Flamenco School. A project that has been made possible thanks to the support of the south region, the department of Bouches-du-Rhone, the government of Marseille and the Spanish Embassy in France.
The Centro Solea is recognized as the first official headquarters of the Andalusian Flamenco school in France. It is an ambitious programme that brings together over fifty artists from fifteen districts in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Toulon and Digne-les-Bains.
