Courses, workshops and masterclasses at the 39th ‘Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba’
From July 4th to July 13th, 2019, there will be a wide array of courses of flamenco guitar and baile. The latter will feature the maestras Eva Yerbabuena and Olga Pericet. Besides, guitar courses will be back to their original location at Córdoba’s Palacio de Congresos.
The 39th, Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba, which will take place from July 4th, to July 13th, 2019, will offer a wide array of courses of flamenco guitar and baile. The latter will feature two great bailaoras who have been awarded national prizes of dance: Eva Yerbabuena and Olga Pericet. Besides, the courses of guitar will be back to their original location, the Palacio de Congresos de Córdoba.
Flamenco guitar
Flamenco guitar is naturally the main pillar of the courses program. The 39th edition of this festival will feature four guitar masters with the utmost prestige, nationally and internationally.
The program will be opened (June 4-6) by Niño de Pura, who will teach a course about techniques and studies about speed, control and synchronization of flamenco guitar’s technical mechanisms.
From July 7th to July 9th, maestro Cañizares will teach a course about the technique of both hands in flamenco guitar. Then, from July 10th to July 13th, the celebrated Manolo Sanlúcar will have a flamenco guitar workshop. This course is aimed not just for guitarists, but also for composers, researchers and musicians in general.
Finally, also from July 10th to July 13th, maestro José Antonio Rodríguez will close the program with the course ‘The Technique of Modern Flamenco Guitar’.
Baile flamenco
This edition of the Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba features two courses of baile. First, from July 5th and July 6th, Eva Yerbabuena will teach La Soleá, movimientos e interpretación. Then, from July 8th to July 10th, bailaora Olga Pericet will debut in the festival’s program with her course Técnica y coreografía featuring different flamenco palos and the use of the bata the cola as scenographic element.
Besides, the musician Gerardo Núñez will give a masterclass about toques and flamenco technique.
