El festival «Bierzo al Toque» regresa a la ciudad de Ponferrada (León), destacado enclave histórico y cultural. La muestra flamenca, conducida por Miguel Morán – exdirector de festivales como el FIB, de Benicàssim, y Flamenco on Fire, de Pamplona–, ha iniciado su jornada el jueves 25 de julio por la mañana con la cata de Olga Verde, de la Bodega Godelia, y la inauguración de la exposición fotográfica de Ana Palma, compuesta por un total de 26 retratos en blanco y negro que recorren diferentes aspectos del panorama flamenco más puro e intimista, entre los que están Moraíto Chico, Manuela Carrasco o Farruquito. Tras pronunciar unas palabras sobre todo el proceso creativo, Palma remarcaba su orgullo ante la presencia de tantas figuras emblemáticas del mundo del flamenco.
Por la tarde, tuvo lugar la emotiva entrevista entre el legendario guitarrista Pepe Habichuela y el escritor José María Velázquez-Gaztelu, conducida por el cantaor Arcángel. Al caer la noche, David Montes, periodista y crítico flamenco de Jerez de la Frontera, ha introducido al guitarrista José del Tomate (hijo de Tomatito), al joven cantaor El Bola, al guitarrista Cristóbal Santiago y el premiado bailarín José Maya, que han presentado su espectáculo De tal palo.
Con un aforo completo y con todas las entradas agotadas, han subido al escenario Israel Fernández y Diego del Morao para presentar las mejores canciones de su repertorio ante las más de 1.200 personas. Toda una noche de éxito en la que del público del norte ha disfrutado de las raíces puras del flamenco.
Como guinda del pastel, el conocido DJ Gufi ha animado con sus temas más auténticos a los asistentes que han coronado el primer capítulo de una trilogía de días que continuará hasta este próximo sábado.
